Primary schools in Ramsbotttom

This is a long shot but has anyone here got a child in a primary school in Ramsbottom? I have posted this in local too but am looking for as much advice/opinions as possible!
We are looking to move there later this year; DS is currently in year one so will need a school place. I have been able to have a look round Emmanuel Holcombe and St Andrew's but have a few issues with each; Hazlehurst looks lovely but is oversubscribed, Peel Brow has places but feels the wrong side of town but if it was really worth attending we could look into living closer to it.
We don't want to live in Holcombe Brooke, Edenfield, Summerseat or Shuttleworth which rules out those schools.
Any help greatly welcomed and appreciated!

Have you considered Greenmount? Surely you don't have to live in Holcombe Brooke to attend the primary school? The area isn't that huge. What you could do is look at the Bury schools website and look at the distances from the schools that children were allocated places. They publish that every year - 2015's isn't available yet (I just checked because I am awaiting our place tomorrow)

Or, you could speak to the LEA for advice? I have found them because extremely helpful when we moved between submitting an application and getting a primary place.

When you say oversubscribed, when you do eventually move, can you not go on the waiting list? How far away are you currently? Is staying at his current school until a place at the preferred local school comes up an option?

Thanks for your replies. Greenmount is over subscribed the only primary school in Holcombe Brooke which has places is Holcombe Brooke Primary. We won't be able to drive to school and I'd rather not get the bus.
manchestermummy we are currently in North London so we definetley won't be able to stay where we are!
I have put DS on the waiting list for Hazlehurst and he is fourth on the list so realistically it is not hugely likely he would get a place.
St Andrew's were a bit vague about the number of places they have but seemed to think they could fit DS in, if he wanted a place.
I do need to talk to the LEA again; I spoke to them earlier this year and they were helpful and candid - it was after the lady there warned me we would be very unlikely to get a school place that we ruled out Prestwich as a potential place to move to.
Looking at this year's school places Peel Brow, Emmanuel Holcombe, St Andrew’s and Holcombe Brook are under subscribed, HH's catchment area is now tiny and they turned down as many kids as they have offered places to.
EH seemed like a lovely school but logistically getting up there could be a nightmare and the outside space was small - DS needs space! St Andrew's felt rather cramped and tatty but I have heard good things about the weay they work with the kids.
Ugh it's so difficult not helped by the fact that I can't visit often.

Holcombe Brook is a fantastic school and my two are very happy. Some year groups are full but it's worth having a look round and see if you get a fee for it. Good luck!
