Boy's Sleep Overs - where does everyone sleep?

My DS is having his first sleep over he's 9.5 years and his friend is a little older at 12 (very young 12 though).

DS has a 3/4 bed but Im guessing unlike when I was a girl we would top and tail or share the bed when we had sleep overs etc...

Ive suggested that my DS offers his friend the bed and I make a bed up on the floor for him. Also we have a single futon mattress would this be adequate. Gosh I sound rubbish dont I :)

Bed on floor or futon perfectly acceptable. If there is space they might both like to be on the floor for easy chatting. No need to offer friend DS's bed either.
Quite likely they may end up in the same bed though!

room is tiny and a single futon mattress would be just about it the 3/4 bed takes up most of the room! I think as the guest is a little older maybe no no to suggest

Bed on the floor or futon will be perfect. If it fills the floor, that'll just make it more fun. If it's a bit small for a 12 year old I do think your DS should let him choose.

On the floor the norm. Be very nice to offer friend the bed but not the norm IME.

Both on the lounge floor in sleeping bags. Bedroom too small and no TV in bedroom.

I used to always request that the guest brings a sleeping bag anyway - then it is easier for both to sleep on top of the bed - or on the floor.

DD (5) went to a sleep-over recently. Poor mother had SEVEN kids sleeping over, so she chucked a load of cushions, blankets and mattresses in the sitting-room and stuck them all in there.

My DS had his friend over last night for the first time. I bought a single blow up air bed from Tesco for £10 for him, he was perfectly happy sleeping on it.

I second the blow up air bed.
