I know legally the ratio is 1:30 in reception. How many staff are in your schools reception class? Our school has been put into special measures. Whats good practice? We have 1 Teacher and 1 TA

One teacher and one TA for each class of 24-25 children. It was also put into special measures recently, no idea if this was the case before.

There was 1 teacher, one general TA and an additional TA for children requiring particular support. This continued throughout KS1. There were also 3 learning mentors in a special unit who could support where needed. 30 children.

'Outstanding' school in innner-city London.

There's 3 classes in reception. For each class there is one teacher and 1 TA. On top of that I think there's usually an extra TA or two or trainee teachers/student/people wanting experience for pgce type things floating about between the classes.

Staff ratio is one qualified teacher to 30, as far as I know. I don't think TAs are included in the count.

30 children, 1 teacher, 2 TAs, but one of those TAs will be part-time in the class after Christmas.
