Find out TODAY if DS has got into the same school as his sisters!
Lots of applicants were turned away last year, due to a bumper intake
We're just in catchment

Ooh I'm waiting to find out too. My eldest two are at the local catholic school and my youngest is at the nursery there. Each one of them got turned down before I received a letter relenting and letting them go anyway. One of the mums has two kids in different schools. Fingers crossed.

DefiniteMaybe · 12/04/2013 08:50

I got an email yesterday saying we won't find out until "shortly after Tuesday 16th April". Ds has been attending our closest school's nursery. But it is a catholic school and ds isn't christened any religion so he goes in the last category of catchment. Any christened children will be before him and they only take 30.

tethersend · 12/04/2013 08:52

Not until the 17th here (London).

thegreylady · 12/04/2013 08:54

16th April here-my dgs is hoping to get into the same school as his brother. He is in the nursery class which is no guarantee. Older dgs is in Y1. They live out of catchment and just across the county line. In previous years it would have been a shoo-in but an excellent Ofsted has boosted applications this year.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 12/04/2013 08:55

Ours is next Friday. Given we live 30 metres from our preferred school I would be shocked if DS doesn't get in.

BreasticlesNTesticles · 12/04/2013 08:57

22nd here! We live opposite school though so not really worried, but you never really know until you have the blasted letterSmile

Lalalalalalalala

Today here in Notts. I received an e mail at quarter past midnight. We got our second choice which I am really pleased about. I found it hard to choose between our first and second choice anyway.

I'm just relieved, I've been stressing all week!

Good luck everyone else!

MardyBra · 12/04/2013 09:02

Yes. It's not AIBU.

OnwardBound · 12/04/2013 09:07

Don't find out till the 17th I think [London].

I am desperately hoping DS gets into our first choice school.

Have a good chance of doing so going on last year's intake and our proximity to school.

But you don't know until you receive the official notification do you...

Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear!

thebody · 12/04/2013 09:10

Glad all this behind me as its sooo stressful.

Hope everyone gets what they want.

InWithTheITCrowd · 12/04/2013 09:10

Oh!! Thank you for reminding me!
Just checked and DS got into our preferred choice!
Hurrah
:)

fledtoscotland · 12/04/2013 09:11

Not until the end of the month here in south lanarkshire. Our catchment school is 30mins walk where as our placement request is less than 10. DS1 is already there so waiting to hear if ds2 gets a place

InWithTheITCrowd · 12/04/2013 09:11

All the best, everyone.

Svrider · 12/04/2013 09:43

He been offered a place Smile
Good luck to everyone else!

We find out by email on the 16th. I am quite anxious now so glad to see thread! Will be happy if DS gets one of our three choices but it's uncertain. No 1 is great but a very long shot. No 2 also very good, very close to us but small so fewer places. No 3 good but like the others oversubscribed. The next nearest school is Not Good At All School, and was undersubscribed last year when quite a few kids got allocated to it when they hadn't named it in their three choices. Really hoping that doesn't happen for us, but we're on a run of bad luck atm so this will either break it or ramp it up even more Sad

Good luck to everyone. Any news yet OP?

innermuddle · 12/04/2013 09:54

We find out on Monday. Fingers crossed!

What Mardy said.

DeafLeopard · 12/04/2013 12:07

There is a thread on this already in the right place - ie not in AIBU

gobbledegook1 · 12/04/2013 12:49

We've just moved and our local school has really bad rep and ofsted report so haven't named it as a choice so hope thats not allocated or I'll cry.

Our first choice is an outstanding school thats very hard to get into so I don't think we'll get that, I will be happy with second choice as its near nursery and most of his friends will go there and its a good school that is linked to our high school of choice, 3rd place is quite a distance away so not ideal but is close to family who I rely on for help when I work.

We find out on the 16th.
