How old is your child? Have relatives living near Alnwick and they don't have all through primary schools in the area. They have first schools Reception to Y4 then middle schools Y5+ and high schools Y9+ (I think).
Some rural schools are very small - is this a problem for your child?

My relatives son who lives near Alnwick and has SEN went to middle school in Wooler which had good reputation for special needs. The school is Glendale middle school. Only problem is that they are looking for more pupils to help boost numbers as they have been threatened with closure in 5 years time. They take pupils from aged 9. HTH
