If your children enjoyed the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures on Chemistry (The Modern Alchemist by Dr. Peter Worthers - 3 talks on Air, Earth & Water - with fire added to all 3) they may enjoy learning more about other elements from the Royal Institution Advent Calendar here: advent.richannel.org/

If you missed these lectures there here on BBC iPlayer: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search?q=Royal%20Institution%20Christmas%20Lectures

If you're thinking this isn't for young children - my 7 year old and 10 year old were absolutely entranced. It's chemistry - but it's magically entertaining!

Thank you Royal Institution - what a lovely Christmas present to everyone!

Enjoy

My 5yo ds was fascinated by them too. His dsis (age 9) said "yuck... it's science" and wouldn't watch though.

We have recorded them for DS2 as he's really into Chemistry. One of his favourite presents for his last birthday was a top trumps game of the elements.
