Knightsbridge School

Looking at this school, any opinions please?
We looked around and loved it, their ethos really agreed with what we are looking for in a school, lots of enthusiastic and efficient (quite young?) staff and very approachable with-it head.
Other opinions though would be greatly recieved.
We are due to look at other schools in the next few weeks to compare.

Bit late in response but Knightsbridge school is extraordinary! It is nurturing, academic, sporty, arty, musicy, leadershipy - wonderful. We have 3 there, DS very bright who is pushed brilliantly in all areas, DD slower and works with the brilliant special needs dept and DD who is 4 so who knows?! They focus on being an all rounder and DD has already stood up and talked/performed in front of a room of anything between 20-250 people 5 times this term (year 2) - a confidence I never thought she would have and that I entirely put down to the school. An inspiring place. Wouldn't consider any other school ever :) xx

Knightsbridge School is very close to our house just 0.01 miles..since they do not accept any application until 2017 for reception class, we did not get a place for my daughter.. Last year I talked with many parents about that school... All of them were very happy.. But according to it's inspection report Knightsbridge school is not excellent.. You should read its inspection report...

Starting with the positives, the Knightsbridge school building is beautiful and spacious and they offer the opportunity to study a variety of modern languages. Knightsbridge school was founded as recently as 2006 by 3 City financiers and the Headmaster is an ex-Army Captain. Knightsbridge school also seems to have "branches" in Bogota, Colombia and Panama. However, I do agree with the not-so-glowing Ofsted reports of this school, that the quality of teaching in some classes is unsatisfactory. The pupils did not appear to be disciplined by their teachers, some children were fighting with each other, were not engaged in purposeful activities during the classes and none of the pupils replied to us saying Good Morning to them. I asked the school registrar to send me the records of the numbers of pupils moving on to various senior schools and she was not pleasant... reluctantly she agreed to send me this information but has not done so ! We have registered our child at another school with a more established academic record and run by teachers. Something did not feel right at all about Knightsbridge school...

I wouldn't touch it with a proverbial barge pole. Teaching is not good enough at all. I know some teachers there and have been fairly horrified at what they describe. This school is all fur coat......no knickers.

Teachers are too young and inexperienced. The head , Magoo, is not a trained teacher, so has no idea of how a school is run. Bursar v unfriendly. I was not impressed and am not fooled by head. Look at inspection reports !

I heard very disappointing things about school from an existing parent.
I agree with what bamboostalks said "I wouldn't touch it with a proverbial barge pole". Similar sentiments echoed by my friend.
Unfortunately she feels trapped as standard is not good enough to get to another good place that easily. I tried to read the school inspection report but link on website doesnt work. Just tried clicking on "ISI Inspection Report 2010" and was taken to
Report file does not exist. Please contact the site that linked to this report.

Bamboostalks & Amy Fowler:

I recently looked at Knightsbridge junior dept and loved it, but I'm a little worried by the negative things you have heard. Please could you be more specific?

Anyone else heard bad things?

Thank you!

hippymum.. I will send you a pm in a bit but please do speak to few existing parents. You can go to school at pickup time and speak to few parents. I think it might give you a bit of confidence. If I had to choose after what I heard I would not consider them. Hope you get more support and honest opinion from existing parents.
