Hi I am looking at Prep schools who prepare kids to common entrance. I live in Basingstoke and ruled out Gems and Daneshill. I looked at Winchester and not sure about Swithuns Prep school as I feel its girls only school and at Prep i always think mixuture is always good.. Any one who knows about Cheam.. please help me out

Im kind of in a similar situation and curious as to what you have chosen to do.
also why did you rule out Daneshill? I found a few negatives on Gems but why not Daneshill?

I don't know anything about Cheam other than a university friend of mine had been (and boarded) and enjoyed it.

St Andrew's in Pangbourne might also be worth a look for you. It's lovely.

A friends daughter went to Cheam and has done very well. She's a lovely girl and I think her attitude/views reflect well on the school, IYSWIM?!

I know a couple of boys who attend Cheam, both are friendly and bright, they go to the same cricket club as my DS every summer and are good team players. The cricket facilities at Cheam are amazing, Cheam lets the local village cricket club train in its sports hall and use its nets in the middle of its beautiful grounds every Spring. I always look forward to going.

It just wasn't my cup of tea. I would suggest reading ISI report that is on the website and then visiting.

Any thoughts about Elstree? Versus Daneshill?

Hi
Did anyone come to any conclusions/comparisons/recommendations between Cheam/Daneshill/Elstree for two boys aged 8 and 5
