Dragonbox. My 6 year old can now do very complicated algebra. Tis amazing. And addictive. The whole family is fighting over the tablet to get their turn.

Squeebles also do excellent math bingo, addition/subtraction and division apps. Highly recommend, and cheap too.

I love the kids playing The Lulus Memory Match. They are on Ipad, Iphone and android too! Great to keep the brain focused, hand eye coordination and all the different card sets are education which I love. Also once you buy it, no in app purchase, so we can leave the kids for a sec and not fret about them downloading or buying something! here is the link:

Enjoy!

Ooh I love the charley bear app! It's free and so good to keep toddlers amused. It improves hand eye coordination and logical thinking too. All the Thomas the tank engine apps are great, and mostly free.

Your DD is too old but for anyone looking for a good app for Reception children (or a little younger if they are already interested in letters etc), there's a great one called Pocket Phonics which practices phonics and letter formation. The sounds seem to be the ones recommended to use by teachers, eg not buh but a shorter b sound, and it is good fun. DD really enjoys it.

My first motor is an app with a toy car where kids can play with the car and learn the various parts. Also good for teaching word/speech recognition too! My friend has just released it on android and it will be available for iPad soon too. I would recommend it

Wurdle can be good just for looking at CVC words and finding rhymes to them.

I like the Times Table Clock.

I also have one whose name I've forgotten at the moment, where the bathroom mirror fogs up and then you can write on the surface, and you can practice letter shapes that way with younger children.

Fetch (not Snatch) is very good for hand eye coordination.

Squeebles is a decent basic times tables app. And Percy Parker is quite fun.

pop math is good for adding and taking away.
this weeks words is a great spelling app
tell the time is good

I found the national geographic one too difficult and too US focused.

I have a timetables app. Also foreign language apps available. National Geographic do one I think too.

The game where the dog has to retrieve named objects is excellent for hand-eye coordination. Is it called Snatch?

We have Monkey Math and Monkey Lunchbox - i think they are aimed at younger than 7 though, but there may be some 'higher' versions

Or if I am allowed to hijack, same question for android?

My dd is 7 and as I have just upgraded to an iphone 4, I am going to give her my old iphone 2 (without sim!) for Christmas

Any suggestions for some good games (ideally with a bit of an educational bias), that I could put on for her.

We have Plants and Zombies!!! Also Doodle Jump, Peppa Pig - none of which are educational!!!!!

Do you have any Apps that you kids love and are worth getting?
