You can be a governor and on the PTA.

You can also be almost any kind of a governor (community, LEA or parent), even if you are a parent.

So firstly you need to find out if there is a vacancy. Then if there is a vacancy you need to apply for it :)

You could either a) wait for a ?Parent Governor? vacancy (which is advertised/circulated to parents) and apply for that or you could b) contact the Chair of Governors to see if there is a Local Authority, Community or other type vacancy and apply for that. If you have some particular skills that are needed you could be co-opted on to the Governing Body.

Oh and yes, you can be on the PTA as well.
