Hello everyone. Does anyone have any information about Perrymount school in SE23? I'd be grateful for opinions, good, bad or indifferent. Thanks!

Don't know about that one but Dalmain is good and Fairlawn has a good reputation

Hi there, you may well have tried already, but this local forum might give you more feedback: se23.com

Hi both, that was quick, thanks so much. I think unless we live on the doorstep of Fairlawn and Dalmain, we won't get in - basically, we're buying a house which is closest to Perrymount, and it seems that most people get allocated there closest school. We seem to be getting a little bit more for our money by buying near there too, but now I'm having a paranoia that we should buy in the catchment of one of the 'better' schools such as Stillness, Dalmain or Fairlawn, and compromise on the space. It's so hard to tell from Ofsted reports, and I have no idea how much to read into the KS2 results etc. I can't visit until September as no open days until then. So I have tried on se23.com (thanks for the pointer) and I have heard that Perrymount is fine, but I guess I'm being a bit OCD about it, so looking for any extra info I can find. Thanks again!

PS if anyone knows anything about Kilmorie that would be useful too! I think it is just possible that we would get in there - although very unlikely

Hi
I live the other side (daughter at Dalmain, which is, indeed, very good in our opinion) but lots of friends over that end of town seem to have kids at St Michael's (SE26 but close) which they like very much, so if you're a person of faith that may be worth considering. Don't know Perrymount well, but I've never heard a bad thing about it. Kilmorie has a largish catchment and is expanding so you might be ok there - we thought it was fine, but Dalmain is closer for us. Rathfern supposed to be very good too - don't know what catchment is for that. That may all be no help at all, but I hope it is

Hi Sleepingbunny, thanks so much for that. Don't know St Michael's but unfortunately not a person of faith and think we've left it far too late to develop one! I've heard really positive things about Kilmorie, despite not so great Ofsted. But just can't seem to get that much information about Perrymount. Perhaps because it's small so just less people to provide it. Anyway, thanks so much for responding, I appreciate it.

Just to add - we're se26, but top end, so kids go to Eliot Bank, but friend in Lower Sydenham who lives off Adamsrill, not church going in slightest, has daughter at St Michaels and very happy, seems like lovely school.

Thanks for this. I'll have a look at St Michaels.
