Hello - we are moving to Wimbledon Park later this year and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the primary school there ? Also Bishop Gilpin which is a little further away. Thanks in advance for your thoughts !

Hi Cazza40, my two DC are at WPPS. It is a small friendly school. A new head started last September. Not sure what to add. BG is better is terms of results/ Sats.

Both schools are oversubscribed and have very small catchment areas.

You can PM me if you have specific questions.

My neighbours' children go to Bishop Gilpin and seem very happy there. It's supposed to be very good academically. Don't know much more sorry.

Bishop Gilpin is supposed to be an excellent school but like most schools in Wimbledon - tiny catchment and they have not continued with he bulge year.

The new head at Wim Pk is from St Michael's in Southfields, which has a great reputation and excellent results. Apparently he was responsible for academic standards there, so will be looking to raise them at Wim Pk. Wim Pk also backs onto a park, so it's lovely for the children (and parents) to all meet up and have a play there after school. Don't know much about BG, sorry.
