For forthcoming History Day, we did Florence Nightingale last year, quite a few girls going as Anne Frank....so ideas gratefully received.

YYY Joan of Arc 
DD3 went as Joan of Arc one year and it was easy - trousers, sleeveless jacket in grey-blue, peasant blouse, ankle boots.
DD4 went as Rosa Parks - simple straight skirt, blouse buttoned to the neck, simple hat which was a summer sun hat covered in fabric, glasses, tights, slip on shoes and white gloves, plus handbag.
