Easy to put on uniform?

my daughter is in year 1 but is as tall as a 7/8 year old. she is expected to get changed quickly after p.e. without any help. She can't get (school) dresses on and off and is the wrong shape for skirts and trousers. can anyone recommend any dresses which she would be able to get in and out of more easily and quickly. She doesn't have problems with normal, non-uniform dresses. They can wear any blue or grey dress. we're happy to throw some money at the problem! grateful for any advice

I've not used them, but you might want to try Perry Uniform who are suppliers for one of the schools near here. Ignore the bit about "select your school", and select "school uniform" from the index box on the left. There are options for dresses, pinafores and kilts with bodices.

My DD really likes these from Very. They're a bit stretchy so they're easier to get on and off. Only £12 for two as well.

Trying to picture what you mean. Would a pinafore meet requirements? M&S do ones with zips down the fronts.

DD1 is in reception and wears 7 yr odl clothes. We buy zip front pinafores from supermarkets as she can put them on like a skirt, put arms in and shrug on like a cardigan and zip them up. Buttons on cardigans are the next problem....they are all so tiny and fiddly!

I have an 8 year old who wears age 10 clothes, she is currently liking Next pull on trousers, they are good quality and very stretchy and warm.

If she insists on dresses we used Sainsbury's but you have to buy a bigger size Dd3 grew out of the age 10 last winter.
They do have a nice long zip though.

I have a tall skinny DD#1 age 6 who wears 8-9yrs clothes. I got some skirts from M&S in the summer for her that have adjustable elastic waists so they do adjust to fit her shape ok - and easy to get on and off.

Thank you all for all your help. I think the problem with most dresses is that the zips are too short. She is still a todler shape and has a big tummy and no waist so trousers and skirts tend to fall down. will try elastic waists and look at all the other links.

I have ordered what looks like the perfect dress from Perry. It has buttons all the way down the front. Will post update when it arrives!

Perry have phoned to say they no longer do the dress with buttons down the front but I ordered 2 from Very which are excellent. I bought size 9-10 which seems ridiculous for a 5 year old but they fit well and she can get them on and off. Hooray, a happy ending!
