DS in Year 2, parent's evening next week, just 10 minutes. How do I extract all the 'juice' in the short space of time?!

How's he getting on?
Is he making friends / getting on wth the other children?
Is there anything we could be doing at home to help anything along?

I always found that would give the teacher enough of a nudge to tell us whatever was valuable!

How about - what are his strengths? what areas does he need more help with? does he have any individual targets? is he happy? does he participate in class? what are the expectations for this academic year? - exams? just at the top of my head.

What areas could we particularly support him with at home?

I have a DS in Year 2 and his parents evening is this week.

I am going to ask about handwriting, as we moved house and school in June and I'm not sure if they all learned joined up writing together, but he has a mishmash (didn't learn in old school) and so I want to find out how to help him with it.

Am going to ask about his strengths and weaknesses. This school seems to either have more academically strong children in it than previous one or DS has plateaued a bit (or both) and I am interested in which it is and how to best help him.
