Hi Can anyone tell me how good St. Andrews and St. Matthews are? I've not heard great things about them and want to know if its true. Also, are there any other options if you don't get into one of these two? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Hi, my children are not of school age yet however I have spoken to a family recently who have moved their children from Felton Fleet (bullying issues) to St Andrews and can not praise it enough, both children are flourishing. As for other options I'm not sure, I think you need to go to church to attend St Matthews (or live close - I think priority is given to those who are part of the church parish first).

Ah yes the bullying issues at FeltonFleet know them well. It's a long standing problem at the school.

Anyway I know that St Andrews doesn't have a great reputation and most local people send their children to private if they can afford it. But I have had a few meetings with the Head a few years ago and found her to be amazing. Since then I spoke to a few people with children and the school had changed dramatically in the last few year.

I have several friends whose children went to St Matthews infants and then onto the Raleigh in West Horsley. St Matthews is a great school, and whilst it is CofE you should not have a problem getting in as long as you are local. They are also talking about extending the school up to age 11 which would be good as no need to find another place at 7, which is the only real problem I am aware of.
