Junior school choice help

My ds is in yr2 at an infant school so I need to choose where to send him next. We have 2 good schools he could go to.
School One would be easier for me to do the school run, focuses on all round education (sports, drama etc) and is 'good' according to ofsted.
School two is 'outstanding', a bit further away and much more academic. It has a reputation for giving lots of homework, and projects every holiday.
The general consensus is that if your child needs pushing then school two is the right one but I know parents are happy with school one.
Ds definitely needs a push. He is doing well at school but hates homework with a vengance and doesn't read/write at home for fun.
Which would you choose? Confused

Should have added that I obviously want him to continue enjoying school and therefore would be a bit concerned about the more pushy academic school two

School one would be my choice all round education, closer and anything to avoid homework battles Grin
Ds won't learn as well if he is unhappy and the sports and drama may add to his interests and build his confidence and make him more enthusiastic about the academics.

If they are both good schools I would go for the one which is nearer. Only if school 2 was significantly better would I go for that choice.
