DD started this morning, she was so excited and looked so smart in her uniform!! Grin
She had a great time and can't wait to go back, although due to the system that they run for induction and starting school, she now has to wait until next weds before returning!!

ds1 started on Monday and is loving it, he has his sister in the same classroom though and knows most of the room from playschool or through dd so it wasn't too scary for him. He's annoyed he has to leave earlier than her though... the teacher is doing two weeks of half days for the Junior Infants, it's not gone down well Grin

DS2 went today, from 9:30 until 1:30. He loved it - although he's pretty exhausted right now. Long day, I think! But he certainly had fun. I think he's much more ready for this than we are! Grin

DD did her first full day today with no apparent problems though did panic when the school phoned at around 10.15. Imagined the worst but all they wanted to know was whether she was allowed milk or not. Phew! She only turned 4 at the beginning of August so I do worry about how she'll settle but her teacher told me at home-time that she was quite confident (is that shorthand for something else??!)

Apparently she didn't eat much (if any) lunch and they wanted to know if they should keep her in until she ate it but I'm not sure that's the best way to go. I've told them we'll wait and see - DD isn't used to having a big meal at lunchtime and I'm sure that she'll eat when she's hungry and when she sees that everyone else is. First day's a bit early to tell. They have PE tomorrow and get to go to the local leisure centre every Tuesday to do gymnastics! She'll love that. Doesn't appear to be that tired at the mo but we'll have an earlier bedtime tonight just in case.

So far so good!

DS had a lovely time - he's come home singing the hymn of the day, and has pe tomorrow, so gets to spend the day in pe kit which apparently is v exciting. 1st party invitation too !

DS started today - half days til Jan (850-115) he was very excited to be starting big school and ran into class without giving us a second glance and he was a happy boy when we picked him up. My DS is also an Aug born mejon and I worry too but luckily he's a confident littley who makes friends easily. Am so proud of him!
Teacher was welcoming to all and eased us into it. Have a 'meet the teacher' eve to discuss 'stuff' ie reading, pe, homework(!) etc
