And how tall are they? Do they still wear children's range clothes?

scrumpkin Wed 17-Jul-13 00:04:11

Dd1 was probably starting to look at wearing a size 8 as she developed curves quite early on.

Dd2 is still in age 9-10shock . She's tiny and very skinny. She doesn't care though smile

ImaginingDragons Wed 17-Jul-13 00:04:26

12 yo ds wears men's small/medium in t-shirts, 32 waist, 30 leg trousers - he is about 5'5"

ladylambkin Wed 17-Jul-13 00:10:26

She wears size 8 or age 14 from Next/New Look she wears size 6 shoes and is 5ft 5...she is 11

snice Wed 17-Jul-13 00:13:45

5' wears age 11-12/12-13 depending on store or a size 4/6 petite in Top Shop etc

I think there will be a huge variation in the answers you get - some children will already be well into puberty and growth spurts by 12 (particularly girls) while others will still be more child-like.

Mine have always been tall for their ages, and hit puberty early. At age 12 DS was about 5'8" and had been wearing adult clothes (TopMan size S) for a year or so.

DD is now aged 10, nearly 11, and is already 5'2" and wearing an adult size 8/10. She will probably be her adult height by age 12 (I was 5'5" by then, and still am).

AuntySib Wed 17-Jul-13 00:15:48

DS 12 yo wears mens small t-shirts, 15-16 school shirts, 30 waist trousers, size 7 shoes. About 5'4.

Snoot Wed 17-Jul-13 00:15:55

DD is 12 1/2 and 5'7", currently in an adult 10-ish bottom and larger top. She had broad shoulders and chest and long legs so needs a long length in trousers. It's a nightmare!

Tigerblue Wed 17-Jul-13 10:36:51

My daughter is nearly 12, petite and only 140cm (she was only 44.5cm when born so was never going to be massive). With puberty, she has grown as massive 12cm since September, but I think she will slow down now. At the moment she's wearing mainly age 10 clothes. Her shoe size in only 1! Luckily for her, there are another couple of girls who are slightly smaller, so she's not the smallest.

Dd is 13 and wears kids size age 12 or adults size 6.

She is 5'5" but very very slight and we need the size for length but have to belt or pull in elasticated waists.

DD is 12 next month, but hit puberty early, periods at 9.
She's around 5'1 (I'm 5'2 and she's a wee bit shorter), size 8-10, 34b boobs and size three feet, same size as me, we can share clothes and shoes.
I don't expect her to grow much more as she hasn't much in the last year, and I didn't either after 12/13.

Nightwish Wed 17-Jul-13 11:15:42

Netto if your daughter is a size 8-10 then she is almost definitely wearing the wrong size at a 34B.
Go look at the bra intervention threads, I would be surprised if she was anything over a 30 back.

VivaLeBeaver Wed 17-Jul-13 11:21:53

DD1 wears 10-11 or sometimes 11-12 trousers. Shes 12yo.

Tops she wears age 13 though has started buying adult size stuff, normally size 8 as she likes baggy tops.

She's quite short, maybe a bit over 140cm????

bigTillyMint Wed 17-Jul-13 11:23:42

DD wore age 11-12yrs (or even 10-11yrs for waist on skirts) at that age. Even adults size 6 was too long on the arms. She started her periods at 12 and was a B-cup. She is about 5'3" and a size 6-8 now aged 14, and a 28D.

DS (12) is 5'6 or 7" and is wearing adult men size S or 28" waist trousers. Age 15 in boys uniform.

gazzalw Wed 17-Jul-13 11:30:58

DS still in a boys age 12 clothes. He is convinced he's little for his age - he does seem quite small compared with a lot of children. However, he is and has always been 'bang on' with wearing the right clothes for his age, so assuming he is within the height parameters he should be!

mimbleandlittlemy Wed 17-Jul-13 13:42:20

DS is aged 11, 5' 7", size 10 feet, wearing men's medium/32 or 34 waist depending on cut/where they come from.

It's an expensive nightmare especially shoe-wise.

DS will be 12 in September, he's 131cm tall, wears age 9-10 clothes mostly.

Oh, size 1 shoes. He seems so small compared to others on this thread, I hope he catches up eventually.

MiniTheMinx Wed 17-Jul-13 13:51:14

DS aged 12 wearing size 5 shoes and age 12-13 in clothing. He has always been bang on with size to age ratio, just assumed he was normal height. Looking at other posts here.......he's obv a pygmy.

steppemum Wed 17-Jul-13 13:57:14

ds is 10

yes TEN and he is in size 8 shoes and size 13-14 clothes except trousers which has has to have 2 sizes smaller as he wears them so low down on his skinny bum

Grrrrrr (went shopping with him yesterday for trousers -sigh-)

dd1 is 8 and in size 9-10 all ready so she is going the same way

I should have married a midget.

gazzalw Wed 17-Jul-13 13:58:56

We might need to make a date to come back in four years time to see what height they are then....

DS has never been tall for age (and definitely still isn't) but I have no doubt that by the time he's 16 he will be at least 6 feet tall - DW and I were both late developers and are confident that he's following the same growth pattern.

DD (who is very tall for her age) is another matter entirely!

FWIW InMySpareTime, DS only wears size 2 1/2 shoes at 12 going on 13 - but big feet don't run down the male lines on either side so fully anticipate he'll never go beyond a 7 1/2 shoe size!

Peachyjustpeachy Wed 17-Jul-13 14:05:06

My dd is 9 10 in Nov. She wears 8_9 tops and 4_5 bottoms. Her cousin is 10 months older she wears size 18 adult stuff but isnt even 11 yet

All kids are different

DS doesn't have genetics on his side, I'm 5'0", DH is 5'7. I am smaller than most of the 11YOs on this thread (I wear size 6-8 or age 13 clothes), and there's not even hope of a growth spurt in my mid thirtiesgrin.

NoComet Wed 17-Jul-13 14:13:44

DD2 does 11-12
DD1 didn't she was around a 10-12 adult or a next age 16, a real pain because she was 5'2" ish and didn't have adult boobs, so stuff was too long and tops didn't fit.

She is now 5'6"+ and a perfect size 12, at 15 she's still wearing some of those tops and they now fit perfectly.

MadeOfStarDust Wed 17-Jul-13 18:32:09

DD2 is 12 - 5'5" size 6 feet - size 6-8 Adult or age 13/14 child - because she has developed hips and small boobs this year...

DD is 12 and wears an adult size 10.

Notmyidea Wed 17-Jul-13 18:58:53

160cm tall, size 10, 30c bra.

GraduallyGoingInsane Wed 17-Jul-13 19:07:40

My DD3 is 13 and wears age 9-10 stuff, which is often a bit big round the waist. She's tiny in both directions. She has some adult size 4 stuff but its mostly big on her.

DD1 and DD2 are both a size 6 and still fit into age 10 clothes (DD2 has a few age 8 skirts). We're built small in this family - the only one of my DDs who doesn't fit age 10 clothes is DD4, who is 10! She's still in age 7-8 for the most part!

DD is 12. She is around 150cm tall and weighs about 30kg. I don't know the imperial, she is a metric child!
Her feet are size 1 -1/1/2 and she wears age 9 school skirts and tops.
In H+M she wears 10-12 size clothes. She has teeny tiny bosoms which she covers with crop top style bras.

Ilovemyrabbits Thu 18-Jul-13 19:09:18

DD is 12.5 years old. She's got size 6 feet. She is wearing a size 8 in trousers, thanks to curvy hips, and a size 8 in tops because she likes 'em roomy. She has boobs, 32 aa to be precise, and is lean rather than skinny. She is taller than her grandma already but that's no surprise as DH and I are both 6 footers. She wears S in Jack Wills, Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch shirts. She will wear medium though. She wears their trousers in a 26 with a regular leg length, which she then rolls up.

She has some clothes that are children's age 11 - 16 but she rarely buys kids clothes now.

lljkk Thu 18-Jul-13 20:14:34

DD is nearly 12 & has size 1.5-2 feet. Wearing size 10-11 clothes.

Bunbaker Thu 25-Jul-13 20:20:44

DD is just 13 and slim with long legs. Age 13 jeans are a little too big on the waist and a little too short on the leg. Size 6 is a good fit.

nooka Sat 27-Jul-13 06:22:32

My dd has been in adult clothes for a couple of years. She wears I think size 6 now (we are going shopping tomorrow so I'll be more accurate then) and has started filling out a bit over the last few months. She is 5'9" and still growing at the rate of knots. Her feet stopped growing a couple of years back at size 7. She's always worn clothes a couple of years older than her age, and dh is 6'5" so it's no surprise.

I send way more money on her clothes than mine, but she does look pretty fantastic (she has a lovely figure and great posture).

chickensaladagain Sat 27-Jul-13 06:34:27

Dd is 5ft 4 with size 5 feet and wears a ladies 8/10, 30b bra

Occasionally she will find something in the children's section in a age 13 but tends to prefer adult clothes

I think her adult height will be around 5 10 as I'm 6ft and her dad is the same size

Bunbaker Sat 27-Jul-13 08:47:46

DD is 5'1" and is smaller than most of her friends. This is a little surprising as both OH and I are fairly tall (5'7" and 6'2"). I would like her to be at least 5'6" before she stops growing.

Bunbaker Fri 09-Aug-13 21:04:16

DD wore size 6 women's jeans as age 12 were too short and too wide, and size 5 shoes. She was 5'1" and on the 50th centile for weight and height.

Silverfoxballs Sat 10-Aug-13 10:21:44

DS wears age 15 or small adult sizes, he is almost 5ft 5 and has size 11 adult feet.

The tallest child in his year is a girl who has been 5ft 8 since last year of primary school.
