How to manage rude and bad behaviour?

How do you manage pre-teen "tantrums" and general bad behaviour? I found it straight forward when they were younger but much harder now.

Do you take away benefits, threat to take away benefits, just tell off or what? I feel the taking away of benefits is starting to feel a bit wrong, I mean, for how long will you "take away tablet time" - until they move out of home? But I'm not sure what the alternative? Would really like to hear other people's thoughts please!

I went to a series of parenting teenage sessions. The lady advocated taking a phone away from a teen (only for 15 minutes, then escalating up a bit if needed). So actually, I don't see why you can't stop tablet time. Also for teens you can remove things like giving lifts.

Hopefully by the time they move out of home they will be mature responsible humans who don't need behaviour management!

Nena I agree it is not straight forward once they get older. I do think bad behaviour also requires conversation, why are they being rude? Are there reasons for the tantrums. I don't just dish out punishments, I think it is important to also explore the cause. I find talking through it works better now my dd is older.
Having said that I do also use removal of ipads, time in room to reflect etc as being too lenient could cause more serious discipline issues once the dc become teenagers and the problems are bigger and potentially more dangerous.
