Sensitive DD (10 yrs) has been told she is fat by a boy at school

she bottled it up for over a month but I suspected something wasn't quite right and tonight she finally opened up. The boy didn't say it directly but she heard from other children later (why the others felt the need to tell her is beyond me). She was in floods of tears and is feeling very upset. She is a very sensitive girl and takes everything very closely to heart. I did explain to her that in life there will always be people who we don't like and who don't like us, that she needs to become a bit more thick skinned, etc.

Just wondering if there is anything else I could do to raise her self esteem? Any help would be much appreciated

Is there anything she is good at? Hobbies, she wants to pursue that you can encourage her in?

My Dd had similar incidences when she filed out for puberty. We got her singing lessons, she asked and we were a bit Hmm okkkkk.... She is actually very good and thrived.
