Anyone finding their year 7 child a bit tricky?

Dd is just obsessed with going to the park to see her friends but cannot seem to understand the importance of taking her phone and being on time!
I've tried talking to her but she just doesn't listen.
She leaves everything everywhere and just seems irritated when I tell her to do things.
I feel as if all I ever do is nag at her these days.
I've grounded her tonight so she can earn back privileges.
I'm not used to girls, my boys were easy by comparison.

It's hard, because they are suddenly expected to be more grown-up in so many ways, but are very much still children. They are meeting a much larger group of peers, some of whom have more freedom and different rules.

DS2 doesn't want to accept any advice from me since starting Y7.
