coping with a 14 year old whilst suffering from depression

think I am the shittiest mum ever, breakdown of communication with my 14 year old son, I am finding it hard to cope, mental illness and learning disabled child, if I seek help will he be taken off me ?

I'm sure he won't be. Help is there in lots of forms. 1in 4 people suffer from mental health issues (I think), people know this and are there to support, not judge. Go to your gp, even just talking about it may help.

It is extremely unlikely (in UK) that they would take your ds off you unless he is being exposed to extreme child abuse and he is at a real risk of being harmed.

I am also struggling, and getting help is the best thing to do. It has taken a while to get the wheels in motion, but counselling and the right medication will go a long way to getting things moving towards a positive and enjoyable family life for us. Go to your GP and get help, it will make you a better mum and far less likely to put your son in any harm's way.
