Dd 11 (12 within two weeks) has had leg hair for sometime when it became a problem she started epilating, not bother by the pain. Dd is now starting to sprout long dark under arm hair not bother yet but has become aware of it. Her hobby is swimming so it with also be noticed by others.

What the best route to go? Was thinking waxing, but not sure and would like to be prepared in advance of dd want to get rid of it.

Similar quandary here with my DD, just 12. She wants to start shaving her armpits Shock The thought of her let loose with a razor brings me out in a cold sweat.

Any advice from mums of teens who've survived this?

I've shaved my DDs pits for her. She wasn't impressed with the stubbly regrowth even thought it was unoticible to anyone apart from her.
She has tried plucking it , she now uses Veet under my supervision.

DH is a keen cyclist & just uses his same face razor for any other unwanted hair. Don't see why it wouldn't work. It's the same sort of electric or battery operated type that just has tiny rotating heads, hard to hurt oneself.

I'm sure I was shaving with real razors at age 11 or so, no problems.

At 11, I helped DD shave them. By the time she was 12/13, she was doing it herself.

My 12 yr old dd just did it without me knowing. She shaves her legs as well.

what lljkk said. I was shaving my own pits at 11 or 12. Can't imagine shaving dd's for her.

My DD is 11 (just) and she's been using my electric shaver, under supervision, for the last 3 months.

Last weekend I bought her an electric rechargeable shaver for her own exclusive use, because it was offer in Sainsbury's. She has to keep in my bedroom, just so it doesn't get lost.

I'm currently discouraging leg shaving, because really she has very pale leg hair.
