Hi, please help. I know it's that time of year but I really need some advice and our local County Hall have been totally unhelpful.
My daughter has found this lovely school which she is very keen to go to, and having been round to see it on the open evening we were both very impressed. Trouble is her father, who has PR, is adamant that he won't let her go there. This is stressing her out big-time.
He wants her to go to the massive mixed-sex comp where he thinks she'll get a "better education", not to the other same-sex school who "cater for the lower social spectrum".
According to him. Yes, there are mixed abilities and it's very multicultural, I see this as a good thing.
My daughter lives with us, her father sees her every other weekend and has no contact at all during school time.
County Hall have said we have to agree on a school because if I just fill the form in and submit it and he makes a fuss, there are "steps" they can take. What these steps are I have no idea as the girl wouldn't tell me, she just kept saying "you have to agree". That will not happen unless or until hell freezes over.
What will realistically happen if I send the form in and he hasn't agreed??
Surely the powers that be will realise he's just being deliberately obstructive?
