Wondering if any one has there kid there, and what their experience with the school is? We will be visiting the school next week for a look around, and would really appreciate some views before then.

Thanks

Hi Ramsi. My son is there (yr 1) and though I didn't know much too much about it when we started, am really pleased - it has a great reputation and is nurturing as well as (hopefully) ticking all the educational boxes. I don't love the location on the slip road and is a tiny bit cramped - but then so many schools are - however it's got a great atmosphere, they do lots of different activities, and the links with the larger UCS school mean they have access to great facilities. And you don't have to sign up your kid when they are a foetuses unlike many - though that might change of course. If you have a boy it's nice to know the future schooling might be lined up - just wish it was co-ed after 7 too.

Thanks very much for your message, headless chicken, it's very reassuring to hear first-hand that the school is good. A quick question: do you find that it is very academic or more play-oriented?

We did the tour of Phoenix and liked the ambience. I think she'll be happy there. Agree completely about wishing it were co-ed after 7 too! Thanks again headless chicken.

Hi there - sorry, I don't log on that regularly. Glad you liked it! I think it's probably a pretty good mix of academic/play. The kids go on to selective schools so presumably the teaching is okay and it isn't the sweatshop I've heard others can be. They do lots of creative things and visits. Hope all works out.
