major panic today! I am moving back to NZ at the end of Jan to go to uni. I have just realised that I have no way of finding childcare for ds before I get there and no chance of finding a place once I get there as I start uni 3 wks after I arrive. What am I going to do!!!!!

I have emailed a few preschools but they all have waiting lists and you have to go into the place to enrol, the uni place has a long waiting list and doesn't do the 20 free hrs thing which I really need.

I can't believe I hadn't thought of this before. What am I going to do!!!!!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Am I going to have to go over there? How on earth am I going to afford that? Am I the most stupid person ever?

take a deep breath

and relax.....

can you put him on waiting lists?
I would have thought there would be some hope for the uni place, as people drop out all the time.

Do you know anyone there with kids that can check out a few places for you?

Just breathe - it will all work itself out.

Surely there must be some information via the equivalent govt or local govt offices?

If you're connected to a university, contact the HR dept for advice?

find someone you know or vaguely know and ask for help?

Ok, I'm calm. I think it will be ok. I have a list of all the preschools near the uni, I will call and email them all and someone will be able to help me. When I contacted the uni one they said they would be happy to put ds on the waiting list, but I would have to come into the office to fill in an enrolment form first, I'm not sure how they expect me to do that. I will email them though, maybe someone a bit more helpful will reply.

If I can't sort this out I will have to go over there, I can sell some stuff or beg my parents to lend me some money. It'll be fine.
