she will be there 5 mornings a week whilst ill be helping out my DP's new business (being a secretary and sorting out paperwork etc). Im thinking of volunteering at my DD's school as i love being with young kids but got no qualifications in that area. (ive being doing admin and thinking of a career change maybe)

whatta think??

When ds2 started playgroup I used to go into the primary school once a week for a couple of hours to listen to readers. I really enjoyed it, and it gave me an insight into what school is like from the inside.

If you can spare the time, go for it!

Later on you could consider doing a qualification as a TA if you enjoy being in school.

I think it's about 9 months, and you have to do about 10 hrs per wk in school, plus one afternoon in college, plus homework.

But beware the market for TAs does vary in different areas. Recently our HT advertised for a TA and got 110 applications, most of whom were well-qualified for the post!
