Black school trousers for a tiny tot !!

My dd is starting nursery in September, due to health problems, she is tiny, and although she is three she takes a size 2-3 years in trousers, even then I need to put a tuck in the waist hehe . Can anyone suggest a shop that might sell black school trousers in size 2-3 ? Tried the local National schoolwear shop but the smallest size they do is 3-4 and its a very generous 3-4 so no hope of making adaptations

Would rather not pay too much either, as 3 year olds are not noted for taking care of their clothes !!

Thanks

Primark do the most lovely brush cotton trousers and they come in black. And they are 100% cotton instead of that awful nylon stuff the normal school trousers are made out of. I'm fairly sure they come in 2/3. In any case they have elastic inside the waist (looks great from outside) that can be adjusted. They are on shelves in the boy section. I buy them for my dd as well. AND they are really cheap.

Asda? About £3 - just not sure if they have that small but worth a try

H&M do lovely soft cotton trousers in loads of colours including black, from 12 months+. We had the same problem with dd - she spent her first year of nursey in size 18-24 months! M&S might be worth a try too

Think yourself lucky, my 3 year old ds is at nursery and is in 18-24 month trousers!!!!

I have some from Adams that are age 3 ones and seem to fit OK on the waist, they had to be turned up. I havn't tried M & S yet but the boys ones at least have those adjustable waistbands. Got some 20 inch ones from John Lewis too, bargain at £3.50. They too will need turning up but they fit on the waist.

To be honest for a girl I would go for a pinafore as even if they are big they won't fall down which is my son's problem. Dd went to nursery in pinafores that were a size too big (I wanted them to last)
