Partial Day school in London for an almost-3yo and a 5yo?

Hello!
Does anyone know of a school accessible from the King's Cross area that is partial day and would accept both an almost 3 year old and a 5 year old?
We are relocating from the US. I would so love the kids to be able to be together and have another year of 8/9am - 12/1pm ish if it is possible. The gentler the school the better.

Private or state school?

It might be tricky, because your 3yo would be in a nursery class (and mornings or afternoons only are widely available) but the 5yo would be in either reception or year1 of school, and it is much harder to find part-time.

Thanks very much. We're open to anything - state or private. I realize it is tricky and possibly more likely to come from a Steiner or Montessori kind of school. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be most grateful.

Hi SophiaVera, St Andrew's Montessori in Islington may work for you coming from Kings' Cross. It is a very 'gentle' pre-school and one we've been very happy with. They currently go up to age 6, but they have just announced they will go up to age 7 (so that's up to year 2 in UK education speak). Good luck!

Hi, if Gloucester Road isn't too far from you Hampshire School takes them from 3 years old, but at 5 they have to be full time.

My children are both at Beckett House (Montessori). It's on Richmond Avenue (Islington) so easy to get to from Kings Cross.

We chose them because you could choose (subject to there being space) the morning / afternoon combination - my son (nearly 5) does 3 mornings and my daughter (nearly 3) does 2 mornings.

Next year, my son will go to school and my daughter will do two full days and one half day.

I know that they used to be able to take children up to age 6 (think one family were moving overseas so left their child in the preschool rather than have them do a school for only one year). However, it's worth checking whether they still could do this.

Sorry, forgot to say - mornings are 9 to 1.15, afternoons are 2:15until 5, full days are 8:30 to 5:30 (although I don't think many people actually leave them there that long).

All the kids are in the same room and it has suited us very well. My children absolutely love their teachers and have really benefitted from going there.

Hopes and Dreams, Islington based Montessori can take children up to the age of 8. The manager, Cornelia is very helpful i'm sure she'd be happy to advise on appropriate options.
