Starting nursery

My 2.5 year old starts nursery on Friday and I'm feeling sick to the stomach about it!
I know this is normal for parents do I'm looking for advice on easy transitions!

My ds has never been away for me and is unbelievably clingy. He has a meltdown if I leave him at home with his dad for 10 minutes if I nip to the shop.

He's only going 2 mornings a week so it's not too bad but he has delayed speech so I'm worried he's either not going to understand what I'm explaining to him as he can't communicate back or he can't tell me what he's thinking feeling about the situation.

Any advice greatly appreciated

The Nursery staff work with dc like this all the time.
Talk to them about your concerns, and ensure there is a decent amount of time for him to settle. Nurseries are usually very flexible, and will adjust things to suit the individual child.
