Book Week at Nursery

Its book week next week and dd has to dress up as a character for fridays session.

any suggestions of something easy - I'm not convinced shes going to really understand why she's going in dressing up clothes so suggestions on adjusting normal everyday wear would be good.

she's got a great dog outfit and a variety of fairy dresses in her dressing up box plus snow white (but she don't like this one!)

she doesn't have any favourite books really - likes the traditional stories (3 pigs, gingerbread man, bear hunt etc) plus her fav school book is an usbourne book called Kittens Day Out.

Do the pre-school usually have dressing-up clothes available?

Leggings, boots and a top can be any 'principle boy' role e.g. Peter Pan.

Or put her in a fairy dress - she could be Cinderella's Fairy Godmather, or the Good Fairy from Sleeping Beauty.

If she's anything like my dd2 then on the day she'll want to wear no top, socks on her hands and a pair on sunglasses put on upside down (I kid you not..)

think i may go for the cat. just hope she'll wear it rather than her uniform. I'm yet to have the pleasure of her insisting on leaving the house in dressing up clothes so think I may struggle to get her there in costume. gues we'll be changing when we get there and everyone else is dressed up.
