Free 15 hours

DD is due to finally start getting her free 15 hour allowance in January (hooray - she turned 3 in September).

How does it work? Does the nursery organise it or do you have to download a load of forms from a government website? i.e. should I be starting on the admin now?

She currently attends a montessori 3 mornings a week and I am hoping she will be allocated a further two mornings at the school nursery - expecting to hear this week. It will be 16 hours in total as she will stay to lunch on two days (half an hour each day) so I will presumably pay for that extra hour.

I expect I'll be packing her off for full days next year as DC2 is due in April.

Thanks.

The nursery should give you the forms but if she only attends 3 mornings you may only qualify for a rebate of 9 hours (3x3) , it depends how they define their session and the LA allows the funding to be used.

And the 15 hours is term time only although it may be spread over the full year for invoices

Thanks both, I'll ask. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't meant to be photocopying passports and so on!

If you Google your local county council and early years free entitlement you should have all the info you will need but the best place to ask is your nursery as each setting will have different ways of offering the funded hours
