Hi all,
I'm looking into Pre-Schools and like any parent, I want a good parent partnership. I've heard that some do daily diaries, parents evenings and wow sheets. What have your experiences been?
Thanking you all in advance
Alice

I liked that mine had an open-door policy. You could go along and see what they are doing/look at their learning journey/folder thing any time.

Staff turnover was minimal - not staffed by loads of under 20's who left every week.

No need for daily diary etc IMHO, but staff would mention anything out of the ordinary at collection time. I was very happy with it.

My DS's preschool offers an opportunity for a parent teacher interview when ever parents need one one- they don't set aside particular evenings for it. I guess some parents don't opt in but we have one every 6 months and I have found them excellent.

Open door policy, parents were always welcome to talk to staff at beginning or end of sessions, staff often approached parents to talk about any concerns/achievements.
They also ran a compulsory parent rota, where each session had a parent in attendance. Younger siblings were able to attend at the same time if necessary. I found this to be a fantastic way of seeing the day to day running if the preschool, and really getting to know what your child's time at preschool was like. Also you got to know the staff really well.
