... what about for a nursery class that is part of a primary?

Ds1 starts in the nursery class next week, 5 afternoons a week. I was thinking of buying tickets for a matinee - but I would think it was wrong to take a child out of school for this, so is it also wrong from nursery?

i know that DS's school officially lik them to be there s attendance even in nursery is counted towards their ofsted reports but they newver frowned on the odd day, just weeks away for holidays etc.
We took Ds on a day trip to france after we had to cancel the HT one and they were fine about it.

dd has been off from preschool the odd day here and there and also for term time holidays , it's NOT school and their attendance doesn't count towards a school total in terms of authorized or unauthorized absenses.

I don't think it matters until they are 5, but if you are going away for a week or so it's best to tell the staff.

That's what I did anyway.
