I haven't looked at the price but by all accounts it's expensive.

They are a good idea

Only problem is the power output is minimal, I looked at stocking them when I saw them at the outdoor trade show a few years ago and the importers/wholesalers couldn't answer my simple technical questions on them so I decided against them

Give it a couple more years for the technology in them to improve the output and they will be a must have in the prep supplies box

I'm undecided. They look quite neat for future thoughts - but what's the point of charging up things you likely won't be able to use because there's no central service eg phones, Internet etc? Genuine question that.

I think I'll stick with a rechargeable radio and 'primitive' solutions for the rest for the time being.

(Unless there are some good charging options of course. )

Sorry - and rechargeable lamps of course. The ones I have in operation these days already seem pretty good.
