In a SHTF scenario like that in Blackout what would you do, stay put and keep your heads down or head away from everyone else with your essentials to your hideout

I am, assuming i was near enough to get home planning on staying put, shutters over the windows, cars behind the gates and out of sight and generally keeping our heads down and away from the surrounding chaos

Very much depends on what the issue is. Blackout, I would bug in. Earthquake/tsunami I would bug out if the house falls down. Grin

I have a house picked out that I will take over if the Zombies come. It's elevated but with a stream in the garden and near the marina for fishing. Or a houseboat. They have some lovely ones here and I don't think Zombies can swim.

Bug in for all reasonably expected situations here.
ZA (pretend) stuff id go to our old family.home (totally off grid but grim to live in) or even worse our hut in the forest (its dry, has a wood burner and a stream nearby)

Bug in as we're rural; if we still lived in London then bug out.

Zombies don't need to swim. They can walk along the sea bed or just float. don't forget...if they dont need to breath because they are dead then they can't drown...

And i would be aiming to bug in here.

Stay at home for a blackout.

If it was like the channel 4 Blackout movie we would definitely be bugging in. But again we're rural. The situation is potentially very different if you're in a large town or city.

We'd bug in in most situations. I can't think where we'd go that would be any safer than here. Friends and family are all city based.

I might just watch the Ch4 black out.

I'm rural, I'd bug in for pretty much everything except flooding/earthquake, and I can't see a big earthquake hitting here anytime soon.

We're in London but in an unusual living situation (very private and quiet) so would bug in unless there's an epidemic. In which case we'd bug out.

In for power cuts, bad weather, etc. We're city based so I'd anticipate us getting help sooner than if we were more rural.

Terrorist/WWIII scenarios would probably see us going to DH's parents because they're fairly rural, although they're in the SE & I worry they'd be on the flight path of any planes/missiles. They do have easy access to a water source & a plentiful supply of rabbits though...

In, unless it was fire or flood (or zombies, but I have a separate plan for that scenario)

We are rural-ish, in small village, and it's not too easy to stumble over our house. We would board up the windows, keep as quiet and invisible as possible.

Because of the children I would stay in if at all possible. Nowhere to go if we had to leave and one of dc in a wheelchair.

But in if possible we are quite well situated. Bug out only if we really had to dh's dodgy ankle would mean I'd have to dump him fairly quickly Grin

Bug in, we're better set up for it. Hopefully a few friends would bug in with us too. But we are also rural compared to many people so it makes more sense.

My friend (2 mins down the road) has a cellar where the door is concealed in the floorboards.

I've already told her we're coming.
