My waters broke on Monday at 27 + 4, i was discharged from hospital yestersay evening and have been told if i get to 34 weeks i will have a c section at that point but the likley hood is he will come before.

Anyone else had PPROM? Did you make it to 34 weeks im still leaking alot of fluid this is making me feel very anxious. X

I had a pprom at 24 weeks and made it to 27weeks but I had additional complications on top of loosing my waters which I think was a factor for me not going longer.
They say if you get through the first 72hrs then the chances of going into labour reduce dramatically.
Put yourself on complete bed rest, don't lift, do housework / do nothing. Also read drink lots and lots of water although not sure if that makes much difference. It's such a stressful time op hoping you make it to 34 weeks. Have you had steroids ? And are they checking your blood regularly for infection?

Unfortunately i got an infection and he was born at 28+3 on sunday night. It was a big emergency as he's heart rate started dipping, waters were meconium stained and he was born in a bad way.

He is in NNU ICU atm. Not had a brikl8day but stable for now. X

Hi OP. Congratulations! I had PPROM a couple of weeks ago and my beautiful little daughter is still in NICU.

The first day was the absolute worst where she was on a ventilator and we weren't allowed to hold her. But slowly and surely it gets better. We're visiting her 3 times a day and know that she's in the absolute best care so please don't worry about your little one. The most important thing is to look after yourself so that you can look after your LO. Sleep as much as you can, if you are planning to, keep up with the expressing, if not, don't worry about it. Eat some good food and keep your nutrients up. Go easy on yourself.

If your NICU is anything like ours, you will be surrounded by lovely parents in exactly your situation. Sharing the experience has helped us through.

Best of luck xx

Congratulations on your son OP! Hope you've managed some rest and he is managing ok in NICU.

I've had PPROM 4 times but by some miracle they stayed out till 36/34/35/34 weeks respectively. My last one despite being 34 weeks was born in a very poor condition - however I'm pleased to say made a good recovery and is now a boisterous almost 2yr old!

Try and rest when you can, ask as many questions of NICU staff as you need too x X X

Thank you to both of you. My son was born in a poor condition due to the infection. He seems to be doing a but better now. I am being discharged from hospital today. So hopefully i will get into a good routine for coming to visit him. I also have a 4 year old and a 2 year old.

I am desperately trying to express atm but but not getting very much but going to keep persevering. Xx
