Hey
We have nothing in our area, nothing at all to support post NICU parents (and children) - I have talked to our community centre who is willing to let me run a monthly coffee morning for a very small fee and also borrow the toys from the playgroup cupboard. My NICUer is about to start school, and I recently had a friend go through NICU and she says there STILL isn't any post NICU support so I think we will do this together.

But no idea how to go about it!

Hello

I haven't done this - in my area the hospitals tend to have their own groups which meet monthly for post NICU parents and kids. Not sure whether the hospitals run them exactly or just spread the word. Could you get in league with your local hospital(s) and ask if they'd be willing to hand out details of your group to graduating SCBU parents?

I've thought about setting one up but never had the time. I've got 18m twins. I suppose all you need is a venue and some parents and hey presto you have a group. If u lived near me then I would def come or even help as I really think we nicu parents need supporting. You would just need to publicise it and yes your local hospital would be a great starting point. You could also advertise on message boards.
