Hi everyone

I'm sure we're worrying about nothing but our 30 weeker, Lexie, now 15 weeks actual (5 corrected) has started doing this really odd action.

She'll raise her arms up (at the side of her body to over her head) really slowly and screw her face into a really pained expression. It only lasts a couple of seconds and usually occurs when she's being held under the armpits and is crying. It's usually when she's waiting for her one formula feed of the day (she's BF otherwise, just has one Nutriprem2 to aid with her weight gain each day).

Any ideas on what it is? DH is more worried than me about it, but then it happens more frequently when she's with him as he tends to give her the bottle. It's not followed by a burp or wind or anything. She normally just goes back to the crying after.

Thanks everyone, think I just need reassurance.

Hi pinkwellies.
No idea why your dd might be doing this, sorry to not be much help. One of my DTs was the best gurner in the world when tiny, and pulled all manner of strange faces.

Perhaps try posting on behaviour and development, has a lot more traffic and you may get some ideas.

Best of luck.
