Just that really . I'm now nearly 13 weeks and no let up . Just wanted to hear stories / thoughts / when it got better ? X

AdoraBell Sun 23-Mar-14 15:52:35

I had it for about 5 months, but I had twins.

Jakeyblueblue Sun 23-Mar-14 15:53:56

I've had hyperemesis this time round, with ds1 I had it fairly bad but nothing like this. With ds1 it didn't start easing until about 16 weeks and had gone by 20 weeks. This time I've had to have meds as kept getting admitted to hospital, but it started to ease at 13 weeks. Am now 15 weeks and am still sick all the time but it's manageable and am starting to function again.
Hope it passes soon for you! smile

I was sick until about 5 months, but it did lessen off quite a bit then. I stayed on the Stemetil as I was still nauseous and if I had a bad day and didn't eat regularly I might occasionally be sick, but it was much better. On a positive note, I quite enjoyed 30w+ as I was just so glad not to be sick, when everyone else was starting to struggle!

It will get better, it just sucks when it doesn't get better at 12w like everyone tells you.

Thanks I have been off work for the past 6 weeks cannot function at all ! Had it will dd but not this bad - I had a couple of miscarriages recently so call it paranoia but didn't want to take meds . Boop33 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:01:52

Thanks for support x

MissSlackPants84 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:02:36

Im still being sick at 23 weeks. Some of us just aren't that lucky

TallyGrenshall Sun 23-Mar-14 16:02:46

It was about 6 months for me. It was bloody rotten but one day I had a epic vom in the GP's toilet and then no more.

It was heaven when it stopped

Boop33 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:04:18

Epic Vom - love it ! Wish it would stop after wards ! Praying for no more than another week or so !

siblingrevelry Sun 23-Mar-14 16:05:53

Stopped at 20 weeks with all three (like clockwork). Never actually three up but quite debilitating for the first half of each pregnancy (and worse with each one!)

Roseandmabelshouse Sun 23-Mar-14 16:06:11

Mine started after 12 weeks. Bummer

siblingrevelry Sun 23-Mar-14 16:06:40

Threw up not three up!

kimlo Sun 23-Mar-14 16:07:16

I had it all the way through, twice.

randdom Sun 23-Mar-14 16:10:19

I had bad sickness until about 18 weeks. I was sure I was going to have it until the end and then it just started to get better. Hold in there things may still improve

Boop33 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:12:09

Thanks all ! Just starting to panic as we have a holiday booked for end of May :-o x

HillyandHally Sun 23-Mar-14 16:12:59

32 weeks and still going. On Two different meds now which has helped but not stopped naseau and vomiting. Was off work for nearly 6 months! Just gone back. It's rotten. Had "normal" sickness with dc1 gone by 12 weeks so this is completely different this time. But I've kind of learned to live with it now it'll be weird not being sick! Poor you it is rubbish hope yours doesn't last as long x

MizTiggle Sun 23-Mar-14 16:13:08

I did. The last time I threw up was during labour. It put me off having more kids!

WeekendsAreTooShort Sun 23-Mar-14 16:17:22

until 40 weeks first time and 39 the second time...sorry. prob not what you want to hear...horrendous and 3 different meds...no more kids!

RhondaJean Sun 23-Mar-14 16:24:44

I did, it stopped around 6 months briefly, it overlapped with Thr horrendous heartburn and then it started again.

I used to throw up when I had my period as a teenager too, and I threw up after dd1 was delivered, I'd warned them I was likely to be sick but did they listen?

My kids are 9 and 14 now but I remember how awful it was. On the plus side I came out of both pregnancies weighing less than I went in.

Boop33 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:29:50

Thanks all it is good to hear that others are in the same boat -And I mean that in a nice way ! Yep no more kids after this! I know 3 people who are pregnant now and non of them have had any sickness ! How rude ! X

Expectingtwins1975 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:33:09

Mines stopped around 14 weeks

allisgood1 Sun 23-Mar-14 16:33:58

16 weeks and still have to be careful about what and how often I eat

DramaAlpaca Sun 23-Mar-14 16:39:01

First pregnancy I had morning sickness from 9 weeks to about 24 weeks. It was horrible. It wasn't morning sickness, it was all day, every day sickness. I'd puke in the morning, struggle through the day, then puke again at night sad

With DS2 I was still bf when I got pg. The morning sickness started at 12 weeks, just when DS1 self-weaned, and lasted until about 18 weeks. It started so late on I thought I'd got away with it, but I think the bf stopped it for some reason, because it started literally the day after DS1's last feed.

With DS3 it started about 5 weeks, before I even got a bfp, and lasted all day until about 24 weeks. I was miserable, and got through it by telling myself this would be my last pregnancy & I'd never have to go through it again.

I was just unlucky, I guess. On the plus side, when it finally stopped I felt amazing, and the remaining weeks of all the pregnancies were really easy.

My youngest is 16 so it's a long time ago, but I've never forgotten how horrible it was at the time.

Hope it all clears up for you quickly OP, and you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Congratulations btw flowers

icklekid Sun 23-Mar-14 17:34:43

Yep 23 weeks and evening sickness still going strong :-( hopefully will stop soon but at least I can work. Like others have said know lots of friends who are pregnant and no sickness just unlucky!

Nades84 Sun 23-Mar-14 17:40:24

With DS1 I never had any sickness but this time round it lasted until 20 weeks. Now 33 weeks and being plagued by heartburn instead sad

Cookiepants Sun 23-Mar-14 17:47:02

My sickness stopped at 40+6 - the day DS was born. I really hope it's different for you OP. The only saving grace was no baby weight to lose.

Boop33 Sun 23-Mar-14 19:20:12

We are so brave ladies and it will all be worth it ! Just would like it to stop now :-) x

Gorran Sun 23-Mar-14 19:25:42

I had it until 16 weeks. You have my utmost sympathy, it's miserable.

Daytona79 Sun 23-Mar-14 19:35:31

I'm 13+4 and had to dash out of a castle I was visiting today with husband to be sick in car park

Lovely eh..?? :-(

notso Sun 23-Mar-14 19:38:16

With DD DC1 I was sick from about 7 weeks until 24 weeks then it started again at 32 weeks until she was born.
It was really weird though I felt fine just ate and was sick about 10 mins afterwards, every single meal except apples or celery. I lost loads of weight.

With DS2 I felt sick the whole 9 months everything made me feel sick smells, the look of food, the thought of food. I had loads of time off work because of it, it as awful.

MinnieMouse5678 Sun 23-Mar-14 19:42:06

12 weeks isn't the cut off point... It ends around that time for most but not all. I had it until 25 weeks...

Ilovecake80 Mon 24-Mar-14 08:28:53

Mine ended at 15 weeks about the time the placenta takes over feeding the baby, hopefully yours will stop then. Keep strong it's a hard slog smile

ShoeWhore Mon 24-Mar-14 08:32:48

I had it until about 14/15 weeks. Hope you feel better soon OP!

Lottiedoubtie Mon 24-Mar-14 08:40:09

I've been house/bed bound since 8 weeks with all day nausea and vomiting. Been admitted to hospital Etc...etc...

I'm now 15w and just starting to see a glimmer of hope, symptoms are slowly improving.

I felt similar to you re. Meds, but I cracked at around 12 weeks, and they really do help. Now I feel a bit daft for not taking them sooner.

Boop33 Mon 24-Mar-14 09:59:30

thanks .I am hoping that the meds will work too as I have been pretty much house bound for weeks! It is driving me insane and hoping that i will be able to get out more at least when i get them !
