Anyone in the first trimester?

(123 Posts)

Im due late October so the October ante-natal board is well developed and moves way way too fast grin

Anyone not on there who fancies a general chatter about the ups and downs of the first tri?

Im 5.3wks, found out just over a week ago, and this is dc2. I had a MMC last August, so am keeping quiet as long as possible about this all.

Current symptoms and state of play is tired, bloated and bloody starving. Could have had two plates of my dinner this evening.

So hi grin

Sanoie1 Wed 26-Feb-14 21:24:00

I had an eptopic and a miscarriage last year but now 5weeks 5days pregnant (hurrah). Im not tired yet and have lost appetite. Boobs are agony. Its my dc2 also.
P.s ken adams? Friends fan per chance?

Haha little bit Sanoie though I am obsessed with The Big Bang Theory so if I ever need to name change im picking something from that.

Gosh and ectopic too, that must have been really scary!

Are you planning on going for earlier scans with this pregnancy? Im debating it.

Last time round I had boob pain but none this time, however (tmi) I have nipples like rocks. Permanently. Its getting silly.

Sanoie1 Wed 26-Feb-14 21:31:07

Ive already had a couple of blood tests which came back positive and showed the hgc levels rising as they should. Scan on friday. I cant wait. I cant get excited yet.

Different boob symptoms might mean different gender....

Never seen bbt but heard its ace :0)

inmybelly Wed 26-Feb-14 21:35:41

Hiya! I'm 5w1d, due Oct 28th with my first pregnancy. Like you we haven't told anyone. I'm anxious about a very bad pain episode I had on Monday night, but other than that things are pretty good.

I had the most painfully erect nipples in the first week, then just generally painful boobs. This has eased a little now. Tummy is very bloated and doing some pretty impressive farts!

I love the fact that I might be having a baby in 8 months, never believed I'd get pregnant so quickly! But hate the waiting game.... Roll on 12 weeks!!

Hope you all have happy pregnancies and lovely autumn babies smile

Give it a try, I loved a good box set when I was on Maternity Leave - might try How I Met Your Mother this time round. And I hope it is all good at the scan.

Hi inmybelly perfect name! Barmy isnt it....by the end of this year we will have two month olds grin

Im another one who fell for want of a better word quickly. Its a surprise but in a lovely way.

Im off on a hen weekend on friday so a friend has been informed so she can keep me in "gin and tonics" aka sparkling water with a wedge of lime.

Does anyone else's skeleton hurt? I ache everywhere. If I sit a bit funny I struggle to walk properly afterwards.

MrsGoldilocks Thu 27-Feb-14 09:13:41

Hi all, I'm 5+5 today! This is my first so feeling really anxious and trying not to get excited yet. We're keeping it secret for now apart from my parents, who we share a house with. At the moment I have really tender boobs (which wake me up when I turn over at night!), constant hunger and thirst, am short of breath, hot, dizzy and have nausea which seems to strike at about 3.30am, so naturally feeling quite tired too! Would love a bit of support on here, especially since I can't tell my friends yet...

Welcome! Sleep is a bloody bugger isnt it - I seem to just wake randomly though the night and am then too hot, thirsty, or uncmfy to get back to sleep for ages.

Ooh it will be lovely to have three sets of hands arpubd throughout the pregnancy and after the birth!

NowLivingAbroad Thu 27-Feb-14 09:52:15

Hey! October due date here too! Our first and we are excited. I was bemoaning the lack of symptoms then they hit at 7 weeks (nausea, extreme tiredness, grumpiness with DP). Now 9 weeks and I'm afraid, we've told quite a few of our friends; they've all been desperate for us to have a child. Have told DP's parents - have yet to tell mine. Loooooonnnng story there

Anyone having weird, vivid dreams too? Having erotic dreams here and Barack Obama popped over for dinner yesterday(you know, in the dream, not for real)

inmybelly Thu 27-Feb-14 10:14:58

Really bizarre erotic dreams!! One in particular I was almost too embarrassed to tell my BF about... He thought it was hilarious/disturbing!

And yeah, waking up at 3am every night from the very beginning. I wondered if this was the boobs (I'm a tummy sleeper) or just generally unable to switch my brain off! Sounds like it might be quite common though since we're all feeling restless.

I had a really bad pain episode after intercourse on Monday night, no bleeding and no pain since, have been quite concerned ever since, but it's being investigated thankfully.

I've not had any fatigue or nausea yet, hoping that's pretty normal at 5w2d... But who knows? If anything I'm feeling less pregnant than I did last week.

It's so easy to over analyse every symptom (or lack of symptoms)... Aargh!

NowLivingAbroad Thu 27-Feb-14 10:26:21

I have only told DP I have erotic dreams but I have not told him the content - I'm puzzled at the content myself. Oh yes, waking up at 3am then going to bed at 6am - i work from home but still.

Oh lack of symptoms is normal at that stage - I remembered praying for symptoms - well they hit so they are on their way, don't you worry too much, Immybelly

BumpNGrind Thu 27-Feb-14 10:27:39

Inmybelly, I'm so glad to read your last post. I'm 7 weeks 5d and have no symptoms except for hip pain. No tiredness, nausea, hunger, nadda. I've had an early scan so I've seen the baby and its little heartbeat. I feel left out!

inmybelly Thu 27-Feb-14 10:44:18

It seems to vary so much doesn't it bumpNgrind? From woman to woman and even the same woman gets completely different symptoms with each pregnancy!! I'm coming to realise that analysing symptoms is a pretty unreliable and stressful way of judging how well the pregnancy is progressing.

Having said that, because most of my friends miscarried at 6 weeks, I will definitely breathe a sigh of relief if/when I get to your stage at nearly 8 weeks. I know that's slightly irrational but there we go! Thinking about it, being irrational seems to be my major symptom at the moment!!

I've also developed an obsession with not jinxing the pregnancy ie we very nearly went into mothercare the other day but decided against it 'just in case' ... As if it would really make any difference at all!!

inmybelly Thu 27-Feb-14 10:46:00

Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, I met a woman a few weeks ago who didn't realise she was pregnant until 5 months gone!!!

Jess03 Thu 27-Feb-14 10:59:28

I'm due oct 4th, dc2. Currently looking forward to the end of wk 8, lost a baby at 9.5 wks last time so really looking forward to that milestone passing and the end of the awful 1st trimester. Nausea kicked in at 5 wks and tiredness, worse than with dc1.

ida36165 Thu 27-Feb-14 11:02:36

I just found out yesterday and I'm due the 28th of October. We had been trying for almost a year and had lied extended the truth on how long we had been trying so we could get NHS help as I'm pushing on a bit (35 next month)!!

Did a test on Tuesday when my period was well late, negative and I was gutted. The Nurse at the fertility clinic did another during our initial consultation with the DH and it was positive!! Made hers and our day smile

On symptoms note, can't sleep through the night, massive boobs which are achy and heavy as boulders and farting for England!!

BumpNGrind Thu 27-Feb-14 11:24:17

I love listening to these happy stories, its so lovely to be able to chat and share when hardly anyone else in the world knows this news. Congrats to all the new mums, lets hope our pregnancies are happy and healthy and our babies are bonnie and beautiful

Welcome new arrivals!

Anyone else squeezing in naps when they can? Ive sent dd for a snooze and am going to have one myself.

Im also conducting a little experiment - last pregnancy, my hair stopped growing - head, leg, underarm, even eyebrows. No idea why. I have very long hair which needs a cut so am booked in this afternoon for a bob. Wonder if it will grow this pregnancy? Be nice if it could stay short, save me a fortune on hair dressers appts.

CrookSmith Thu 27-Feb-14 15:31:18

Hello - we've just confirmed this morning that I am pregnant!!! This is our first baby and we've been trying for nearly a year - I feel horrible and would like to cut my boobs off but am comforted by the fact that my body has gone into overdrive already!!! Apparently I am 4 weeks now and VERY EXCITED!!!!!

BluegrassLass Thu 27-Feb-14 16:02:09

I'm also due in mid October! Yay for autumn! I'm 6wk5days, and in the last day or so, my symptoms seem to have disappeared, which has me worried! My symptoms were sore boobs and loss of appetite. But I feel hungry today, and my boobs don't seem as sore. I've had maybe a very slight case of nausea a few times, but that's it. Starting to worry I'm no longer pregnant, even though I've not had any bleeding. As much as absolutely dread vomiting, I wouldn't mind a session or 2 of it so I know I'm still progressing!

Boogles91 Thu 27-Feb-14 16:42:18

In my first tri i had awful sickness! Only just managed to stay out os hospital with it, i was tired all the time could barely eat let alone drink! my boobs hurt so much more than last time(miscarried last year) and i had terrible headaches. I was releived when it dissapered at 13 weeks, but now i can hardly eat as im put off by everything except beef and noodles. The thought of everything makes me wanna be sick. Im now 20 weeks and have felt lil man wriggle since i was 12, its been amazing feeling his kicks get stronger every week smile we are still overwhelmed by the fact this is actually happening for us as weve wanted a baby for so long, and we have got a lil boy like we always wanted.

weebairn Thu 27-Feb-14 16:44:02

Hello! I am sort of on the September thread but due 27 Sept so it was already 1000s of pages long when I said hi...

I am 9+5 and, I think, just beginning to get a bit better from the endless nausea I've had since 5 weeks.

I work shifts and have a 17 month old so am pretty tired!!

I still feel a bit in no-man's land until I get a scan. I am shattered and sick but obviously look just the same so no one is cutting me any slack. Also I feel like I have no idea if there really is a baby in there. Can't wait to be properly pregnant. The first bit is so tough!

I got pregnant in less than a month after having my coil out... was pretty chuffed as was expecting it to take a bit longer. My first baby took 4 months to conceive. Now the new one is due practically on her birthday! Exciting times.

Have you all told the doctors yet? I need to ring and let them know, really, so I can get a booking in appointment but it still feels so early.

MrsMonkeyBear Thu 27-Feb-14 17:49:14

I'm 6+6 due October 18. Only been ttc with dh for 2 months. My cycle took ages to return to normal after being on the depo injection, so very surprised that I fell so quickly. This is our first and I feel really good. Boobs are like land mines tho. Come too close and I'll explode with rage!!! Get really nauseas when I'm tired but I only work in the mornings so can be curled up in bed by 12.

Congratulations to all you lovely ladies

sophielouise Thu 27-Feb-14 19:45:29

Another one here! I am due October 29th with DC2. Tiredness has hit me this week all of a sudden. Why does the first scan seem like such a long way off? Just got my booking in appointment through for April 1st which seems a mile off as well! Hoping the time flies... Anyone planning on not finding out what they're having?

Sanoie1 Thu 27-Feb-14 22:08:38

Crooksmith congratulations! It took me a year to fall pregnant with my ds and another 2 years and 2 failed pregnancies to get pregnant again now. I understand that longing. Glad its happening for you x

We didnt find out last time, sophie, though dh would have liked too, but we will this time as its only fair.

ElleDubloo Sat 01-Mar-14 17:32:31

Hi everyone! I'm 5+3 today (due Oct 29th). I've had two early miscarriages at around 5 weeks both times, so I'm praying every day that this one keeps! I'm trying so hard to eat well, sleep well, and not run for the bus too hard wink

This will be my first baby and I'm so excited, but so nervous, trying not to get too hopeful, counting each day that passes without bleeding as a success.

robindeer Sat 01-Mar-14 19:23:09

Another one praying for a successful pregnancy here, TTC for 6mths and this is my first DC. 6wks pg today, sore boobs, starving all the time, bloated (or possibly just fat!), and last night I fell asleep on the sofa! Feels like an age until my scan, due date 26th Oct.

Nice to see some more in the early stages.

Im currently away on a hen weekend and am so so bloated. 6w1d and whilst the second bumps pop earlier, this is ridiculous. Am in maternity leggings to go out as my jeans will not button up.

Am so so tired but will go out til 11.

Sparkle9 Sat 01-Mar-14 22:10:51

I'm due 29th October and nervous about the pregnancy because I have been spotting since it got my BFP. This has at least meant an early scan and another booked for the 11th March.

I don't have nausea or sickness but I do have sore boobs!

Fissawissa Sat 01-Mar-14 22:37:57

I'm due 14th Oct so I'm 7+4. This will be our second & so far have had a very different pregnancy!
Nausea hits in the afternoon & I usually end up having a nap for an hour (1st child allowing!)
I have a wedding & a christening coming up in a few weeks & will struggle to fit into the dress I had planned to wear - I'm so bloated come evening time!

JuniperJones Sat 01-Mar-14 22:59:53

Hello, can I join you? I am due 28 October. I had a molar pregnancy two years ago and have been trying on and off for about a year. I don't have any dc. As some of you have said, I won't really believe anything is happening until I get a scan.

I don't really have any symptoms, just hurty boobs from time to time, feeling extra hungry in the evenings and extra tired at the end of each day. I am so worried about mc after everything but trying to remain calm.

babynugget Sun 02-Mar-14 01:23:48

Hi folks. Just got my bfp this morning with home test. Stunned and shell shocked. I'm 34 and only been trying since the new year. Always thought it would take ages to get pregnant! I have teeny boobs but for last fortnight they have been tender, like pre AF but lasting longer. Since bfp this morning have suddenly noticed my nipples are permanently erect and waaaay bigger than they've ever been. Other than that I've had no symptoms. My last period started 24th jan so reckon I'm about 5 weeks! Used a clear blue digital test and it said 3+ weeks. Excited but cautious. Looks like end of October due date. Congrats to you all. X

Miskate Sun 02-Mar-14 08:58:41

I took a test on Friday and nearly fell over when I saw it was positive!
We'd been told in January that we would need to take fertility drugs as I had PCOS (news to me), so we were ready for a long wait. Can't believe we managed to get preto on the first month so I'm excited but a bit apprehensive. Because of PCOS my cycles are completely screwed, so doctor has out me at 6 weeks although I think I'm more like 4+1.

Sorest boobs ever - I have really small boobs normally and haven't experienced pain in my chest region since I was about 10. Also with the nausea in the middle of the night, and difficulty sleeping. So glad to have found this thread, when I told my mum and mother In law they both said that they had never experienced any symptoms at all.

Oh also this is first baby for us and first baby for both our families so we've told parents, siblings, his grandparents etc. hopefully this was not an error!

pilotsprincess Sun 02-Mar-14 09:10:11

Hi everyone smile
I'm due oct 19th or around then.
This will be my 2nd I have a dd 2.5.
I'm suffering big time with morning sickness this time round!

HullBird Sun 02-Mar-14 09:29:02

Hello ladies,

I'm seven weeks today and resorted to doing another test yesterday as I have no symptoms at all now! Week 5 I had the headaches and sore boobs but now, nothing! First pregnancy, haven't told anyone (except my reflexologist when I cancelled my appointment! ). Booking in appt 12 March. It just all feels surreal.

It so reassuring to hear other people's experiences. Like someone said up thread, it's not that I want to feel sick, it would just be good to have a sign that 'something' is happening!

cookielove Sun 02-Mar-14 09:33:30

Hello, I am also on the Sept thread, but have trouble keeping up so thought I would pop over here if You'll have me. Please smile

I'm 10+3 according to my lmp, I'm 10 weeks according to my mother and I am 9+6 according to an early scan I had to confirm pregnancy!

This is my 2nd pregnancy but first dc, had a mmc last sept!

Hello

cookielove Sun 02-Mar-14 09:37:17

Oh and not had my booking in yet as the hospital didn't get my referral sad

babynugget Sun 02-Mar-14 09:40:39

Miskate sounds like we are pretty much in the same boat. Guest baby got us too. I have a dilemma and hoping some of you have some good advice. I've got a hen night, wedding and work night out coming up in the next couple of weeks and it will still be too early to tell anyone I'm pregnant. It will be most unusual for me to not be drinking. Especially on the work night out as I arranged it! What can I say to folk?

mrsnec Sun 02-Mar-14 09:45:19

Hi everyone, I've been lurking, babynugget, I have a friend with 2 October babies and both times she said she was giving up booze for lent. I've been dieting for ages so I never have to explain not drinking.

kashka81 Sun 02-Mar-14 09:52:24

Hi everyone, I'm 5+4 and due 29th Oct. I'm 33 this month and it's my first baby so I'm super excited. So far only my partner and I know and I'm waiting for the first scan (which is in 2 weeks) before I tell anyone else. I'm also quite proud as we've only been trying for a month and boom - here it is already!

So far my only symptoms are tender breasts but not to the point it makes me suffer. No nausea, maybe a slight fatigue but I still go to the gym as usual and even do weights. My appetite is normal, I do fancy spicy foods more than I normally would though (I think). Since I found out I've lost over a kilo but that might have nothing to do with the fact I'm pregnant.

I've found this really great series of videos on youtube posted by Med Twice and called 'Pregnancy by weeks - Week XX' so you can pick whichever week you're in (starting from week 4) and this doctor explains exactly what to expect in that period, what's going on with your body and what's happening inside you. Here's a link to the video about week 6: http://goo.gl/3YF5Td

I hope you'll find it useful and I keep my fingers crossed for all of us girls!!!

kashka81 Sun 02-Mar-14 09:54:42

@babynugget - regarding drinking alcohol, I tell everyone I'm on antibiotics (or other medicines) which can't be mixed with alcohol. Problem solved smile

HullBird Sun 02-Mar-14 09:55:15

Yep, giving up booze 'for Lent' here too. (Helps that I've done it for the last few years).
However, someone on another thread had some great tips, basically, get the first round in, drink something with a 'mixer', be really slow with your drink, if someone insists, accept and pass it to your other half or leave it 'accidentally' on a table, then you can't possibly let them buy you another so go to the bar yourself. .. and so on. Good luck!

babynugget Sun 02-Mar-14 10:08:50

Thanks for the ideas. Nobody who knows me would buy the giving it up for lent one though! I am known to enjoy a bevvy! Think i'll try the antibiotics plus a couple of ' dummy' drinks purchased by myself. So tired just now i'll probably fall asleep anyway!

cookielove Sun 02-Mar-14 10:11:54

Ahhh I don't drink alchol, as I am always the driver, so can't help you there. But I do think the antibiotics excuse is a dead give away!

BumpNGrind Sun 02-Mar-14 10:17:09

I went to a wedding last weekend and just couldn't get away with not toasting with the toast wine. So I just lifted the drink to my lips and didn't sip. I also sent dh to the bar a number of times asking for my usual gin and tonic and he just got me a plain tonic water. I thought I'd be found out immediately but absolutely nobody guessed.

Hevava Sun 02-Mar-14 10:26:28

Hi Ladies,

I'm Heather and 9 weeks today (woohoo! Have to celebrate every little milestone!). I'm due on 5th October. We had an early scan this week for reassurance and we got to see a wonderful little heartbeat- such a relief! It felt quite surprising to see something that is living and growing inside me! My tummy is still looking so normal that I almost thought I could've imagined the whole thing :-P (if it wasn't for the puking and the sudden aversion to anything edible except rich tea biscuits). But it helped me realise the purpose to my symptoms whereas before it just felt like I'd had some kind of illness (self pity alert!)

We had been ttc for 9 months following a mmc just over a year ago. I thought we would never get that bfp!

Anyway thought I'd say hi rather than just lurking.
Does anyone else feel like time is going backwards rather than forwards?! Surely I must be at least 20 weeks by now

Hedgehog1977 Sun 02-Mar-14 11:24:16

Hi everyone,!

I'm 10+2 with our first, we had been trying for 3 years and were about to be referred for ivf so it was a bit of a shock! We had a private scan at 8 weeks and saw a little heartbeat. I've been a bit of a nervous wreck, convinced it's all going to go wrong so I will be glad to get to my next scan in 2 1/2 weeks! It doesn't help that I've had virtually no symptoms, I don't really feel too different.

With the booze thing I've been avoiding nights out but rescheduling them for after 12 weeks! We've also been doing the fake gin and tonic, so I don't think anyone's guessed...

Hx

Hevava Sun 02-Mar-14 12:17:53

Hey Hedgehog1977

Congratulations on your news! You must've been elated when you found out?! It's so incredible to see a heartbeat at 8 weeks isn't it?! And prospects are pretty good apparently if you have a heartbeat at 8 weeks (something like 98% chance of things going ok).

I think it's natural to worry whether you have symptoms or not. I was fairly sick with it a couple of weeks ago and was stressing and worrying so much that I think I was making myself worse. Then when the symptoms eased up and I started feeling better I started worrying about why the was and almost wished to be ill again just for the reassurance! Sickness reared it's ugly head again this morning though.....thought I'd got passed it all but no such luck!

Bails2014 Sun 02-Mar-14 12:54:13

We are 5+4. My boobs are painful, I feel tired, I'm not sleeping well (this may be excitement), I feel sick, headaches (OH ended up driving to 24 hour garage at 3am to get me paracetamol last week) and I've gone off chocolate, not to mention bursting into tears at everything, I cried after sex last night because it was so good, OH says he misses the ice queen! :-)

It's a bit of a shock, baby was planned but we were expecting it to take a while to get pregnant, OH had mumps a few years ago and was told it may have left him infertile and I thought that as a 30 year old smoker who likes a glass of wine and has never had any 'accidents' I was unlikely to get pregnant.

THREE BLOODY WEEKS! We weren't even properly trying and used condoms quite a few times!

Really excited but also scared, my mum and auntie had quite a few miscarriages between them but Dr assures me that it's a whole load of different genes. Trying not to get too exited as we are at such early days but it's hard not to.

weebairn Sun 02-Mar-14 13:36:30

Haha, Bails, I've been doing a lot of crying after sex too!! I'm not sure whether DP thinks he's just -that- good or whether he thinks I'm hating it!! grin

weebairn Sun 02-Mar-14 14:09:43

babynugget Congrats! With regards to drinking, maybe you could tell one person and get them to look out for you? I did this when I was 9 weeks in my last pregnancy, they bought me soda water and lime ("gin and tonic") all night.
I drank a (small) glass of wine at my brother's when I was 6 weeks cause I couldn't work out how on earth to say no! It was a very nice wine grin I figure lots of people don't even know they're pregnant at that point… now I am too sick to even contemplate the thought…

Miskate and Bails - fantastic news, so great to hear of things being easy when you thought they were going to be hard.

Cookielove You are practically my due date buddy! 27 Sept? Though I am waiting on 12 week scan to date me properly as my periods were quite irregular.

kashka thanks for the videos! And congratulations to you too. It's weird to get knocked up quickly when you were expecting it to take a while, isn't it? The first time we took around 4 months, so I was so shocked to be pregnant within a couple of weeks of taking my coil out this time!

hevava Yes to the time going backwards. And congrats on your scan, wonderful news after such a long and difficult time for you.

Hedgehog - that's amazing that you got your BFP just before looking into fertility treatment etc - brilliant, congratulations! It's quite normal not to get any symptoms.

Well I am 10+1 today. I thought the sickness was passing but it's back full force again. DP is doing almost all the childcare, I feel pretty useless. Really hope this bit passes soon. I also feel a bit like I"m just making the whole thing up, despite the sickness and tiredness. I look just the same and am struggling on at work. Got my 12 week scan on 20 March so hopefully it will seem a bit more real then.

gunwalloe Sun 02-Mar-14 14:14:50

Hi Im due on the 27th Sept alls going well except for extreme tiredness

cookielove Sun 02-Mar-14 15:39:42

weebairn I too am waiting for my scan! smile

HumTeach1012 Sun 02-Mar-14 16:24:29

I'm 8+4 due October 6th. This is our first pregnancy and I'm so excited. Took us 8 months to conceive. I'm a teacher so I'm absolutely exhausted doing constant 12-14 hour shifts. Boobs are killing me especially my nipples. Can be very moody too especially when I'm tired ( which is all of the time!) just want to get past the 12weeks mark and have our first scan. No one knows our good news yet, trying to think of a cool way to tell people. I keep feeling very paranoid that people can tell because my boobs are massive and feel as though my belly is too. So exciting tho and can't wait! Xx

peppercold Sun 02-Mar-14 20:26:53

Hi

I'm 7+2 my third dc. Had mmc seven years ago, and since had ds2 :-)

I had my coil out in November so it happened pretty quick for me too!

Had a dull painful ache along my left side tonight while in the bath. Low down in my pelvis around my back and down my hip and thigh!

Is it normal? Everything stretching maybe? Lasted about ten minutes, I'm chef and had a busy day on my feet!

Experienced my first bowt of MS yesterday - just a shame it was in the middle of a crowded bar for a friends hen blush

JuniperJones Sun 02-Mar-14 22:52:43

hi pepper I've had some weird pains and cramps and some Googling assures me it's normal but rarely mentioned for some reason. I would rather it wasn't happening but will try to deal with it.

Sometimesbrunette Mon 03-Mar-14 00:22:34

I'm due 21st October. Baby #1

I've had the lot, cramps, sore boobs, extreme thirst, weird cravings "I must have an onion bahji' . Only on here was feeling rot and can't sleep.

Congrats everyone x

cookielove Mon 03-Mar-14 07:27:02

Feel so sick argh!!!

peppercold Mon 03-Mar-14 10:03:54

Thanks juniper, eased off but had it during the night. Goes right down my thigh a proper heavy dull ache! As its mainly in my leg and hip I'm.trying not to worry to much.

JuniperJones Mon 03-Mar-14 12:27:04

Just got a text from the midwives to say I have to pick up an envelope at the surgery re first appointment. How cloak and dagger! Guess it's the early scan date, nerve-wracking stuff confused

Hi

I'm also due late October. 6 1/2 weeks.

Also had a MC in March and then August so feeling very nervous.

Congrats to you all.

upnorth11 Mon 03-Mar-14 12:39:25

Hi and congrats everyone!

I am also due on or around 29 October, I.e. 5+5 today. It's great to see that many of you have a similar date. It's also our first.

I have only very faint symptoms. No bleeds so far, yay, no MS, only slightly nauseous, no cravings, only left boob a bit sensitive maybe and faint cramping at times, but nothing serious.

Still can't believe it...

Must make booking-in appointment today...

congrats upnorth

I'm nearly 7 weeks and haven't booked in yet! woops.

Lucky you sounds wonderful so far. I on the other hand have had extreme tiredness, backache, boobache, and morning sickness everyday! Completely the oppositte with my son so I'm hoping it must be the signs of a girl ;-)

Dazedconfused Mon 03-Mar-14 12:59:15

hello everyone I'm due 1st October but this is provisional due to body being weird in December and January.
I gave up booze at the start of the year (didn't even know I was pregnant yet so quite lucky) my friends just think I'm on a health kick but a few are looking suspicious. I do like a glass of wine.
I've been doing the same with tonic/sparkling water for certain things. I have a hen doo in a few weeks and will be 16 weeks by then and am dreading it but know will just have to relax and try to enjoy it

congrats to everyone I hope you are all keeping well xxx

upnorth11 Mon 03-Mar-14 14:06:45

I think I need to make the appointment for in 3 weeks as the midwife who is attached to the gp practice is not in every day and so appointments get booked up quickly.

cookielove Mon 03-Mar-14 17:34:31

red the hospital didn't get my referral so I've still not booked in, finally got a date for it I'll be 12+1 when I have it!

Been sent home from work as there is a child with mumps (not in my room but have come into contact), and a child in my room (had close contact) with symptoms of mumps and it can cause miscarriage. Just until I get my immunity checked.

Wow my sister in law was the same with her booking in over the Xmas period which meant she didn't have her scan until 16 weeks - she got to find out the sex in the first scan!!

Oh gosh mumps! Hooe your immunity comes back OK

inmybelly Mon 03-Mar-14 19:55:03

5w6d today. Fatigue hit me today like an artic lorry, staying awake at work was a real challenge. Have been in bed since 7pm. Also my hips and legs are really aching. Is this a normal early preg symptom??

Feel like I'm a sitting duck just waiting for the nausea to start...

This is my first pregnancy and totally underestimated the fatigue. How do they/you do this with a child already at home?! Hats off to you legends.

Zzzzzzzzzzz

cookielove Mon 03-Mar-14 19:57:53

inmybelly I work in a baby room, it is killing me! This mump scare has given me a well earned break grin

red oh no if we get it that dh may want to find out!

inmybelly Mon 03-Mar-14 20:04:58

Cookielove, seriously, how do you stay awake???

Without caffiene I just relied on biscuits, pints of water and regularly slapping myself in the face!

cookielove Mon 03-Mar-14 21:19:02

It is shattering, sometimes when we rub the babies backs to get them to sleep I lean on the side of the cot close my eyes and get a few minutes of rest blush

I do miss diet coke!

inmybelly Tue 04-Mar-14 01:58:56

It's hard to believe that something the size of a lentil is making me feel like this!

After being exhausted all day I've now woken at 2am ravenously hungry. The lentil wants a biscuit...

ithoughtofitfirst Tue 04-Mar-14 08:36:13

I could cry. I could actually cry.

daheedsgirl Tue 04-Mar-14 10:44:51

Hi

I'm 6 weeks today so due end of October. My booking in appointment is end of March :-). I was feeling ok until today and now tiredness has hit me plus the feeling of wanting to be sick. I have had no appetite but now am starving! This is our first baby after trying for a long time. It's nice to hear everyone else's experiences xx

Jess03 Tue 04-Mar-14 10:59:59

It does get better, after feeling like I was almost getting depressed as so tired and sick my energy levels rebounded at wk 9 and sickness abated. Fingers crossed that doesn't turn out to be bad news...

Hi everyone! Congrats to all, can I join too? I'm 3+1 today so really early on, been feeling queasy on and off for 2 weeks, really tired and sore boobs for just over a week so I tested on the weekend. Had a surprise with the bfp to be honest, even tough I suspected I was pregnant AF not due until next monday so I didn't think it would show. DM suggested that could mean twins, eek!

inmybelly I've had the hip/leg pain too! I feel like my pelvis is going to split in two some days! First had it a week ago, and thought it was just because DD had been on my lap for too long. Also woke up yesterday with a pain in my left thigh - like I'd pulled a muscle, it hurt all day.

edward was your last AF totally normal? It is so rare to feel symptoms so so early, im wondering if last months af was actually implantation bleed?

That was my thought exactly kenadams , it was only 5 days (usually 7) but followed the usual pattern (so heavy I can't leave the house on the first day, then gradually easing off). I bought a conception indicator test yesterday thinking it would show 5+ if last AF was implantation, but I did it this morning and it said 1-2. I think I ovulated really early in my cycle, so that might account for early symptoms. I guess I won't know fore definite until I have a scan confused

Ginger73 Tue 04-Mar-14 19:00:31

Hello everyone! Can I join in? I'm 41, so ancient, and 8 weeks pregnant with first baby. None of my friends or my family have kids so I really don't have any idea about this whole pregnancy lark although looking forward to experiencing it. Had told husband last year I definitely didn't want kids, so I don't know who was more surprised, me or him, when I found out I was pregnant and suddenly knew I wanted to have the baby, Mother Nature willing.
So far, baby has been kind, and given me only tender boobs to worry about, symptom-wise.

ithoughtofitfirst Tue 04-Mar-14 20:34:54

Yay ginger!

Congrats on the well behaved baby.

I'm 8 weeks with dc2. Stupid enough to do it again... or it's so good i couldn't wait to do it again? You decide ;)

kcmp14 Tue 04-Mar-14 21:54:03

Hi, I had a MMC in Oct last year. I'm now 4 + 6 weeks and had some spotting last week so my GP sent me for an internal scan today. The sonographer wasn't impressed i had been sent and advised she probably wouldn't see anything and would have to do HCG blood tests. She did the scan and did said that she could see that the endometrial was a good thickness but didn't give me measurements and i still had to have bloods done. I have to go back on Thursday for 2nd lot of bloods which should have increased by 60% if the pregnancy is going to continue and they will re-scan in 2 weeks if they have increased.

I have read about endometrial thickness and some sites say that it can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy? i'm trying not to get my hopes up as i was heartbroken last time but i also want to enjoy my pregnancy.

your thoughts would be much appreciated.

X

alita7 Tue 04-Mar-14 22:41:26

Hi there i'm 4+5. Went to the docs today and was referred to the midwife. Made it feel really real as I got to say the words, I'm pregnant :D

A bit concerned about miscarriage, especially as I didn't find out about my last one until my scan so it will be another 8 weeks before I feel safe! But feeling positive for this one smile

cookielove Wed 05-Mar-14 18:56:54

Hello all, what a day!!

Vendor pulled out of the flat we are buying, and we are just about to sign contracts <argh>

I am stuck at home cause nursery has mumps, and it can cause miscarriage before 12 weeks.

But have managed to change my booking in to tomorrow yay, and will get my mumps blood test tomorrow yay!

Ahhhh and my nephew who is so cute, but not a big talker said bye bye ookie (or insert my real name) and he never says it too me! Bless him, i love him and his squidgy little brother!

But get to pick dh up in less than an hour and i haven't seen in him in days!!

alita isn't it the best to say the words i am pregnant! My mum told me today that she loves telling people i'm pregnant, will be able to shout it from the roof tops soon!!

Nice to have a bit of imprpptu time oglff thpugh Cookie

My job has these random hours of stress throughput the day and I just want to shout "back off you fecking nightmares! Im pg" but I cant.

cookielove Wed 05-Mar-14 19:10:30

Yes the time off is nice, and i am still getting paid which is a bonus!

ema24august Wed 05-Mar-14 20:31:31

Hi I'm due 16th Oct feeling sick when hungry my stomach doesn't rumble for food anymore unfortunately. This only started at 6.5 weeks so like a few of you I also did not feel pregnant at all up until now.

I'm really hoping I start to feel better soon it's like a constant hangover!! And so I can actually enjoy food again instead of eating to stop me being sick.

Trying really hard not to moan :-) can't wait for 12 week scan!!

cookielove Fri 07-Mar-14 08:20:49

ema I feel sick to, puts me off eating!

Had my booking in yesterday, all went well and scan is booked for next Thursday!

BlueStarsAtNight Fri 07-Mar-14 12:45:29

Hi all I'm 6+5 with my 2nd, due 26th October. I've had a few bouts of nausea, usually at night when tired, and had some monster headaches this week that made me sick. Have mild tummy pains today though and feeling worried as I've had pinky brown sporting for a week now, and it's more red today though v light. Sort of just hoping it goes away! Our local epu has a drop-in clinic, no need for appointment, so I might pop there on Monday if still going on. I would have been sooner except I don't want to have to tell anyone yet, but I'd need someone to look after my DS! Hope you're all feeling ok today

JuniperJones Fri 07-Mar-14 14:17:30

Hi all, exciting news about the scan date cookielove not long to go.

I'm having battles already to get my early scan. sad The midwives seem a bit rigid about having the scan before the booking in but I have to have one as I had a molar pregnancy before. It's so stressful, and life is stressful enough at the moment! The booking in is for 9 weeks so if they won't do it I'll have to hope they'll sort it out quickly then.

cookielove Fri 07-Mar-14 15:25:44

Juniper i am very excited but also very nervous, i have a genetic counselling appointment directly after the scan and i am a bit freaked out! (In case you don't remember cause there was so many stories on Jsing, but the baby died because of chromosome abnormality and we were genetically tested because of this)

I had to battle to get my early scan, when i miscarried last time the midwives promised me a scan, i called them at 7 weeks and they said i needed a referral from the dr, i spoke to my doctor who was a basically a total dick about it and made me feel really awkward, in the end he refused to refer me and i went private instead.

I've got everything crossed that you get your early scan smile

kcmp14 Fri 07-Mar-14 16:08:55

Juniper- i had a MMC in Oct 13, i've also had to ask for an early scan but in the end i got so upset my Dr had no choice but to refer me...i dont think they understand what its like not knowing. I did read on line that they can't refuse you an early scan if you ask for one.

I had internal early scan at 4 +6 and they could only see thick epidermis and a sack but no yolk, because of this they did HCG bloods to check my levels which should go up by 60% within 48 hours. Mine went up from 3115 to 9568 in 48 hours which i'm told is great and they have booked for me for a scan in 10 days time...fingers crossed everything is where it should be.

Juniper- you could ask for HCG bloody, they can be done at the GP surgery by the nurse and they actually tell you more than the scan.

Hope you get something sorted.

JuniperJones Fri 07-Mar-14 21:37:07

hi, thanks for your thoughts. I've now spoken to a midwife who is going to refer me but apparently the EPU don't always book in these types of scans. FFS! So, I will email the follow up hospital to set them on the EPU here. My post-molar support group have recommended this course of action!

I was offered HCG blood tests but I think that would drive me a bit crazy after all the HCG related trauma with the molar. I just want to know what's in there and have it at that. Better be a baby perfect to dates with a strong heartbeat after all this stress!

have great weekends. xx

bonbonpixie Sat 08-Mar-14 00:00:01

Hi ladies,
Got my bfp tonight. Only one day late, so was only just slightly curious. This is DC2. Dd1 is 21 months, was giving her a big cuddle tonight wondering if I'm ruining her life....confused

Wow, it hasn't really all sunk in yet. Only weird thing happening is the bizarre rate of growth of my nails! Last time I barely had to trim anything, hair or nail wise. Wonder what else is going to be different??

cookielove Sat 08-Mar-14 23:13:27

kcmp I completely missed your post sorry to hear you're going through a bad time, my thoughts are with you smile flowers

babynugget Sun 09-Mar-14 16:52:36

Hi all. Hi juniper and cookie I recognise you from JSing - congrats, great to see you on here. Everything the same here. Still have sore boobs, very mild cramps (like wind) but no other symptoms. Had some very light pinkish discharge yesterday and today which had me freaking out last night. But trying to be rational about it. I got my BFP over a week ago with clearblue digital and it said 3+ weeks so don't think this can be implantation bleeding? Any thoughts anyone?

cookielove Sun 09-Mar-14 16:57:14

babynugget I've heard that some times as the body stretches for your lo it can cause bits of blood to break away. If you are worried call your dr or local epunor if you bleed more!

Fx and thinking of you flowers

jojov1981 Sun 09-Mar-14 20:17:37

Don't know if I'm late to this party but I'll give it a go

I'm due September 29th (although I think it will end up being an October baby) currently 10+6 and thoroughly confused by my symptoms (first pregnancy). Some days I feel like I am going to spontaneously vomit on whoever I am speaking to, I could sleep standing up and I am occasionally ratty but my boobs aren't sore, nipples haven't changed colour and I don't feel at all pregnant!! I had a panic scan at 9+3 as I had convinced myself something was wrong. And I was so chuffed with the results. Strong heartbeat and bouncy bubba.

Love reading about all of you. And look forward to hearing and sharing more.

X

babynugget Sun 09-Mar-14 21:08:12

Thanks cookie I'm hoping that's all it is. Have to wait until 26th for first midwife appointment so if it gets any worse or persists I think I'll contact the gp. Think our local epu only accepts referrals via health professional. Hope all is going well with you.

JuniperJones Sun 09-Mar-14 22:00:00

hi babynugget congrats to you!
Has anyone noticed their body changing much? By the end of the day I am so bloated I look really pregnant! And my ass is already expanding, I'm going to have to buy new knickers tomorrow.

I also appear to have gone off tea (I drink decaf anyway) so I'm rather sad about that.

HumTeach1012 Sun 09-Mar-14 22:30:41

Hello guys and congrats to everyone! I'm 9+4 now and I still feel like I'm hit by a bus everyday! Nipples are so sore and I too bloat loads by the end of the day. Not been sick but felt sickly at times. Got scan on 21st march so excited to make sure everything is ok. This is my first pregnancy and all I seem to do is worry. Is anyone else as worried as me or am I just over reacting? Xx

Polkadotscarf Mon 10-Mar-14 05:27:55

I'm constantly worried! grin

WanderingGecko Mon 10-Mar-14 09:25:02

This makes interesting, amusing and reassuring reading! I'm about 6 weeks pregnant and due October 30th. I had a missed miscarriage which ended my first pregnancy last August. I was devastated about it and then things just weren't seeming to get back to normal. Just as the Drs were starting tests to find out what was going on, I realised that I was a few days late. But this pregnancy is different and I don't know how much it is just that all pregnancies are different, how much it is a little self-protecting denial on my part, or how much it could be that something is wrong. confused
My nausea is very mild and intermittent: some days not at all. But I am having crazy dreams and do not feel as strong as usual. No sore boobs really but I didn't last time either.

I'm feeling a bit short-changed just now and have mixed feelings. We want a child so much but I'm scared of being hurt again and the fact that I'm not feeling very pregnant is making it hard to get into the right frame of mind. I have horses and a flock of sheep but now I'm being told not to do heavy lifting (my idea of "heavy" is apparently very different to my mother's!) and I can't lamb my flock, which causes another headache!! I also can't have my new sheepdog puppy... this baby better turn up and had better be worth it hmm lol

kcmp14 Mon 10-Mar-14 17:13:09

Ho

kcmp14 Mon 10-Mar-14 17:21:21

Hi

WanderingGecko i feel exactly the same, i'm 5+5 and due 5th Nov, i also had a MMC in Oct last year.

My nausea is also mild and intermittent but my boobs are starting to get a little sore...but is this in my head?

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but at the same time i don't want to ruin this experience because of last time.

I've already had early scan due to bleed (most probably implantation but they wanted to be sure) but only showed thick endimitrium so had to have bloods which were more than fine but i still cant help but worry as I have another scan on Thursday to check that the yolk has developed and baby is in the correct place.

I've read that its really normal to not have symptoms or them be intermittent baring in mind that some people don't even realise they are pregnant for the first 6 weeks.

I hope you start feel pregnant very soon...I'm sure we will be on a feed complaining in a few months....fingers crossed smile

WanderingGecko Mon 10-Mar-14 19:45:40

Thanks kcmp14. It does help to talk to someone else going through the same thing. I can't tell many folk yet and don't want work to know yet. I've been going through "is it just in my head" too today but I think I am feeling more pregnant and boobs are just a bit sore. I'm sure we'll both feel better after our scans... but that seems an age away just now! Good luck on Thursday, really hope it is all good news. I asked whether they would be giving me an early scan but midwife (different one to last time) seems to be very "British" (read stiff upper-lipped and business-like!) and said that I am very fit and healthy and low risk so there is no need. I get the feeling that she doesn't have a lot of time for worriers!!

JuniperJones Tue 11-Mar-14 21:35:35

hello, it's gone a bit quiet in here.
How's everyone getting on?
I'm seven weeks today and feeling sick a lot more. I also appear to have quite severe anger issues!
I think I overdid it today with lifting my nephews and racing around. Lots of weird twinges and bubbling sensations so hoping everything is ok in there. confused

xx

Hi, sorry, been shattered!

Ive had the vomiting and runs (sexy), crazy insomnia, however its dying off and the last two nights ive had a decent tea which has stayed down and a good chunk ofseven or eeight hours sleep.

I dropped in my urine to docs (bloody faff there) so on Thurs I will call and they will officially say im pg (even though ill be eight weeks at that point!!). Then who knows whatever else comes next. Last dc it was dead simple but they appear to have put in a load of other steps now.

Ive told my boss, mainly as I felt guilty as another in our veryy small team is pg and has told the boss, amd two mat leaves at the same time will be a PITA to cover (esp in our busier periods!).

JuniperJones Wed 12-Mar-14 08:46:23

Ah ken sorry you're suffering so much sad glad the sleep is improving. I couldn't sleep the first week and it makes the worry so much worse.

Nearly vomited this morning so things are changing all the time...Just hope it's all ok. x

LoveCharlie Wed 12-Mar-14 12:31:55

Hi all

I'm new here, just got a BFP last wed after MC in Nov.
Excited but scared. 5 weeks + 2 by my calculations.
I gave my doctors surgery a wee sample on Monday, called back today and was told they normally test in house but they must have been 'unsure' as it was sent to the lab. I have to call back tomorrow or fri. I used 2 clear blue digital tests last week that both said pregnant 1-2 weeks, so I'm definitely pregnant right? I wasn't testing early. I'm worried now so any reassurance would be appreciated!!
Thanks x

cookielove Wed 12-Mar-14 14:30:14

I find it odd that all the gp practices, have different protocols for pregnancy. My gp did not confirm either pregnancy, just took my word for it. The gp sends off my referral and I get a lettrr through the post, my friend who is 30 minutes away from me has to make her own referral and appointments. So odd.

jojov1981 Wed 12-Mar-14 14:35:52

HumTeach1012 I have my scan the same day as you! And I am also constantly worried. Will it be there, will it be OK. I so far have no need to worry. But the not knowing is something that I really hadn't considered when I thought about the whole pregnancy situation. There seem to be a lot of times when you are just waiting.

I'm going to tell my boss once I've had the scan, but I am kind of dreading it as I know how busy we are, and I am covering several big projects at work (making the near narcolepsy quite interesting).

Just can't wait for the scan.

WanderingGecko - sounds like we have a similar midwife. When I asked if the urine test confirmed that I was pregnant she snorted and said no, it was to check for diseases (me). When I asked if there was any way I could confirm the baby was there/healthy prior to the 12 week scan she looked at me in disbelief and told me that the NHS couldn't afford to reassure every woman who was unsure about her pregnancy. Helpful!

MyNameIsKenAdams - I've had the runs and vomiting too (sorry TMI) and was fully prepared for horrendous constipation. But it would seem I am the other way! I was sleeping like a baby, but now I keep waking up to worry about my 12 week scan. I never considered myself to be a worrier before. I do hope I don't become a neurotic mother!!

LoveCharlie - I would say you sound pregnant and Friday is only 2 days away now. I was again pretty mental and did a test every week (I had ordered them bulk on Amazon) so I am probably not the best person to ask.

I have just read my post back and I don't even recognise myself I sound like a lunatic. Apologies!!! I have never been such a worrier before.

jojov1981 Wed 12-Mar-14 14:50:09

My cousin is a midwife and gave me a tip for an early scan. When you go to your first midwife appointment say that you have no idea when your last period was. They will then book you in for an early dating scan.

Hope this helps someone! wink

JuniperJones Wed 12-Mar-14 21:12:02

Evening.
Well, another thing to worry about today - I had some bleeding. sad It was really very little but I don't want any at all! I also got my scan date through so I guess the hospital have decided to be nice to me (or maybe the boot up the arse from the international centre for research into molar pregnancy did it...?! wink)
Sorry to anyone with the runs & vomiting. They don't tell you it can go either way! xxx

kcmp14 Thu 13-Mar-14 21:25:05

Hi all,

I had my 2nd internal early scan today which was a follow from hcg bloods due to early bleed.

I'm 6+1 and saw the heart beat, we even got a picture although its only 3.5mm. The relief of seeing this is immense after my mmc in oct.

they confirm my early bleed was implantation bleed and have booked my midwife booking appointment and my 12 week scan although both dates seem ages away.

its worth telling your dr's as there can be a wait to see the midwife. The booking appointment is normally at 9-10 weeks.

the last 48 hours my nausea has got a lot worse and my hips ache like mad, i put my toothbrush in my mouth and gagged this morning...tmi sorry!

x

cookielove Fri 14-Mar-14 07:31:32

Glad to hear it kcmp

I had my 12 week scan yesterday, it was nerve wracking but went well. Healthy little baby!

JuniperJones Fri 14-Mar-14 14:02:54

yay cookie that is great news, really pleased for you xxx

cookielove Fri 14-Mar-14 14:20:02

Thanks Juniper hopefully it will all be plain sailing from now on!
