Anyone else 39 weeks and feeling as fed up as me, really dont want to be induced sad

drcharliegirl Fri 17-May-13 09:40:44

yes! 39 weeks today. Have a family funeral 2 hours away that DH must go to next week and I would dearly love to attend. Booked for first sweep Monday. Lots of false starts now (2 hours of 1 in 5 contractions last night now fizzled out again).

Feel your pain. brew - keep on the raspberry leaf tea (this doesn't work as far as I can tell, and nor does pineapple, curry, long walks or sex...!!!)

shelli135 Fri 17-May-13 09:47:08

Yes 39+2 bored bored bored and sick of people telling me to sleep ' cos yer not gonna get any when babbys ere' piss off lol

Got sweep booked for 40 weeks midwife wouldn't do 1 before then hmm

laurajane89 Fri 17-May-13 10:11:51

I have also had lots of false starts, my midwife hasnt mentioned anything about a sweep i thought she would of by now because im due next thursday hmm

shelly81 Fri 17-May-13 10:30:15

39 + 6 & still here ... Great isn't it ..(Not) x

Cookethenook Fri 17-May-13 10:34:17

I'm 39 on Monday and feeling utterly pissed off. Two of my NCT group gave birth yesterday and i just want to meet my baby too! Was having contractions on wednesday. They got stronger and closer together through out the day and then packed in at 4pm....

Sweep booked for 40+4, hoping i don't have to have it.

laurajane89 Fri 17-May-13 10:39:37

Im fed up so people ringing me and texting me asking if ive had him yet...i would be shouting it from the roof tops when ive had him wish they would stop asking (i sound like a such a bitch) hmm

Bunnychan Fri 17-May-13 10:43:55

I'm 39+2 and fed up! I'm bored and I feel generally shit. Had some aches this morning that got me hopeful but gone again now. So sick of not knowing and the thought of possibly waiting up to 3 weeks makes me want to cry! X

laurajane89 Fri 17-May-13 10:51:51

Thats how i feel Bunnychan

40+1 here.

Every day the mums at school say still here. It's driving me mad now. Dc 1 born at 39+6 and Dc2 at 40+1 ( but I was in labour on due date). Really thought this one would be the same so don't know what to do with myself.

MIL this morning said 'poor DS I feel so sorry for him having to wait(DP has a week booked off from Monday which he has to take)'. Umm what about me I'm the one still heavily pregnant with not so much as a twinge

laurajane89 Fri 17-May-13 11:03:46

Hopefully we will all pop soon

drcharliegirl Fri 17-May-13 11:05:49

I'm off for a(nother) long walk I think. Gonna walk until my pelvis feels like it's opening of its own accord!!!!
Fingers crossed everyone. Perhaps today's the day for some of us?!

laurajane89 Fri 17-May-13 11:10:39

I am also off for a walk so lets hope it works

Is anyone using a birthing ball? Do you know the best way to sit move on them. I find mine quite painful

craftycottontail Fri 17-May-13 11:21:36

39+3 here, only slight period pain type feelings so far despite several totally exhausting long walks!

Sex is just impossible and apparantly you need loads of fresh pineapple to get to the level of hormones needed so can't be bothered with all that chopping!

Birthing ball - I went to an antenatal physio class and the nurses said to sit on it with knees same level as your hips, feet flat on floor and as far apart as your hips, relax your shoulders and then you can rock back and forwards or side to side on it. Should encourage good posture. Or something like that! There are videos on Youtube

limetictacs Fri 17-May-13 11:25:10

I'm 39+5 and been having painful BH's for about 2 weeks now. Sometimes they are regular and I think this is it but then...nothing! Urgh. So fed up now. I'm not sleeping properly and SPD is playing up again so back on crutches. I've tried sex, raspberry leaf tea, long painful and slow walk, massaging reflexology points and having a good cry but I guess DD will come when she's ready. I'm just fed up with my mum calling everyday to ask if I'm in labour yet (she's driving me to the hospital so she'd be the first person I'd call if I was in labour!!)

Anyone else who has had DC2- if you're DC1 arrived on their due date when did you have your second baby?? I had DS exactly on his due date so am I likely to have DD on due date/early as well? I really hope so because I don't think I could stand possibly another 2 weeks of this.

Bunnychan Fri 17-May-13 11:46:41

I swear each day that passes is making my face fatter! :-s

Haha Bunny I feel the same. I have another chin all of a sudden sad

limetictacs Fri 17-May-13 11:58:16

Oh I know how you feel about the face. I've been doing so well this pregnancy showing restraint with junk food etc. but for the past couple of weeks all I've wanted to do is sleep and eat. And I want all things bad for me! sad

laurajane89 Fri 17-May-13 17:16:04

Still no twinges after a long walk sad

lollypopsicle Fri 17-May-13 17:23:34

39+1 here too & fed up! i was inexplicably throwing up last night and then pains woke me up in the early hours and I really thought it might be it but they faded and nothing promising today. boo sad

lollypopsicle Fri 17-May-13 17:25:42

lol, just scanning this thread there are a lot of sad faces. Says it all really!

I've been for a walk twice today, bounced/rocked on birthing ball for two hours and I'm about to have a hot curry. Plus I let DP have three pints at the pub on our walk so he wouldn't be able to drive now.

I feel like its going to be a long, long wait still.

Lolly last week I had pains all day that came to nothing after being sick. Apparently when labours stop and start they are often quicker once established. So see it as a positive I am especially after two previously very long labours

shelli135 Fri 17-May-13 19:02:05

Haha my face has ballooned too sure my nose has doubled in width. Feel like ten tonne tessy hmm

cookiewuk Fri 17-May-13 20:09:16

Hi all Im 39+3 today and feeling as fed up as the rest of you! I had dc1 at 38wks and although that was an emergency induction due to pre-eclampsia I still feel like I should have my baby by now. Im also worrying each day that I will get ill again and my blood pressure spiked a bit last sat so after some monitoring they tried a sweep which showed me to be 2cm. My blood pressure has gone down since but still no baby.
I've tried the walking, sex, hot baths, birthing ball, curry and even reflexology today. Got 2 more reflexology 'tweaks' before my consultant app on Thursday and my 2nd sweep so keeping my fingers crossed!

cookiewuk Fri 17-May-13 20:10:56

Oh and I totally sympathise with all you ladies with puffy faces, Im ballooning too and can't stop stuffing my ever expanding face! sad

ButteryJam Fri 17-May-13 20:17:42

I'm 39 too and feeling fed up too! Had some contractions a couple of nights ago and it just fizzled away! I was so sure I would go to into labour last night and nothing happened, so was feeling a bit down today!

Going to go for a long walk tomorrow (hopefully weather will cheer up)! Ordered labour massage oil today, and tens machine is ready too! I should enjoy the last few days but I'm just so excited to meet baby and really want to get it over with.

I also sat on the birthing ball today but with no idea what to do. Enjoyed bouncing on it though grin

Last time I saw midwife (a week ago) baby was quite low down (4/5 engaged).,How engaged are your babies? Just wondering if it means anything?

babyradio Fri 17-May-13 20:26:27

Not really a thread for me but I'm only just 37 weeks and people are already constantly messaging/texting to ask me if I've had him yet, for heavens sake!

Livingwithmymother Fri 17-May-13 20:36:42

39+6 and if I have another text/phone call or fb MSG asking if I've had the baby (but strangly not said a fu*king word) I'm going to throw my phone out the window (not really, not insured )

ButteryJam Fri 17-May-13 20:50:16

Is anyone feeling unusually grumpy?

cookiewuk Fri 17-May-13 20:55:56

What is with everyone asking that constantly? Surely they realise that when baby (eventually) arrives we'll be shouting it from the rooftops not keeping it quiet!
I am feeling incredibly grumpy now and tearful. I can't find anything I want to do or eat or anyone I want to be around but am also feeling really bored and lonely so don't know what to do.
Gonna go for a walk and out for dinner with dp and ds tomorrow to see if that will cheer me up some.

shelli135 Fri 17-May-13 21:35:13

Oh thank god I thought it was just me, I'm so grumpy I can't even be bothered to text any one back or answer my phone cos iv got nothing nice to say lol!

ButteryJam Fri 17-May-13 23:01:40

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling unusually grumpy, just feel like hibernating away blush

craftycottontail Fri 17-May-13 23:33:54

Oh yes cookiewuk, totally agree! My MIL keeps asking if we have anything we want to tell her hmm

errr, yes - get a life!

ButteryJam Sat 18-May-13 04:36:13

Is anyone else finding it almost unbearably painful to turn in bed now? hmm

shelli135 Sat 18-May-13 05:18:49

Meeeee!!!! Just woke up horrendous back ache can't get back to sleep hmm

Tiredtrout Sat 18-May-13 05:29:14

I'm 41+2 and verging on murderous. I had the last dc at 37 weeks, quite frankly I don't want to be pregnant anymore, I'm as round as I am tall, I had my show 16 days ago, I had a sweep 2 days ago all that has achieved is stickiness and pain, really thought I had started last night (again) but still no baby. I have been getting regular texts, phone calls and f. Messages asking where the baby is as well

megarobotdiscoparty Sat 18-May-13 06:06:14

39+6 with constant back pain due to posterior baby....he must be mahoosive to feel this bad, and he's not going anywhere fast by the looks! think I could have coped for another two weeks otherwise, although may need to delete Facebook account and change my phone number due to having evil thoughts about punching friends and family members ....I am not just a vessel sent to produce YOU a baby! I am a very fed up lady who needs a cuddle and some chocolate

ButteryJam Sat 18-May-13 06:16:30

shelli, me too, can't fall asleep now hmm

shelli135 Sat 18-May-13 06:51:48

Got a wheat bag on my back, getting tightenings hopefully things might be starting, had a few days of early signs.

Anyone else struggle to get to toilet when needing a wee because it hurts to walk ? Feels like every time I take a step, my bladder is going to pop, then lo n behold its only a trickle!!

Joys of pregnancy well in a few weeks wel all of had our little monkeys and forgot what we were complaining about lol hopefully

laurajane89 Sat 18-May-13 09:32:02

Yes i feel the same shelli135, it really hurts to walk now, i had some tighterings last night but have gone away now

ButteryJam Sat 18-May-13 09:42:24

Was reading on how to tell you are in labour, and one of the early signs apparently is a period of feeling moody grin

Here is to hoping then!! gringrin

laurajane89 Sat 18-May-13 09:49:25

I am always moody at the moment blush

shelli135 Sat 18-May-13 13:11:49

Yes I can't even pretend to be in a good mood anymore anyone who crosses me is gettin the full wrath at the moment, feel sorry for my DP

megarobotdiscoparty Sat 18-May-13 14:03:13

YES buttery - mood has deteriorated significantly in the last 24 hours. Had full on rage at DH this morning for snoring and throwing my many pillows out of bed the minute I get up to go to the loo (really though, how rude).

In fact, I'm pretty much ALL of the seven dwarves at once at the moment (apart from maybe Bashful - he left months ago).

And yes on getting to the loo - feel like there's a bowling ball in my pelvis! One day at a time ladies, one day at a time.... we will overcome...

drcharliegirl Sat 18-May-13 14:15:04

yup - today I asked DH to get the drains fixed and he duly called Dyno-rod. Then he went out and called me to say they would be round in 15 minutes.

I cried and ranted and demanded he come home instantly...

Poor guy can't do anything right!!!

laurajane89 Sat 18-May-13 16:12:44

Still nothing sad

ButteryJam Sat 18-May-13 17:44:13

Went for a long walk but still nothing! hmm

cookiewuk Sat 18-May-13 18:41:29

Still nothing here either, apart from even more pelvic pain than I've already been dealing with for months.
Went out to a museum and for dinner today with dp and ds, with the hope that I would be in labour as it was planned days ago. No such luck but I do feel less grumpy for getting out which is definitely a good thing!

laurajane89 Sat 18-May-13 18:41:31

Me too

TigerSwallowTail Sat 18-May-13 18:43:51

39+3 and very fed up!

laurajane89 Sun 19-May-13 17:49:24

Ive been for a long walk in evesham today and still nothing hmm

Tiredtrout Sun 19-May-13 17:52:46

I had a baby today, 41+3, gorgeous chubby 9lb7 girl, which is huge compared to the others.

Featherbag Sun 19-May-13 17:53:18

Oh how I hope and pray I'll be on a thread like this in December. DC1 born at 32/40, have been told I'll be lucky to make it to 34 weeks this time. I'd give anything to go overdue!

laurajane89 Sun 19-May-13 17:57:35

Congrats tiredtrout smile

drcharliegirl Sun 19-May-13 17:57:59

Congratulations trout!
Send some of the hormones through the ether to kick start the rest of us, will ya?! wink

FaintlyMacabre Sun 19-May-13 17:59:09

39+4 and desparate for her to stay put for now! I've got a chest infection, awful rib pain from coughing and can't pick up a cup of tea never mind a baby! I can't imagine going through labour feeling like this.

My others were born at 40 weeks exactly and 40+4 so hoping this one hangs on at least that long.

Much sympathy to everyone else though, last week I felt just the same and couldn't wait for her to arrive. I have a stash of pineapples and clary sage etc that I'm steering clear of now!

TigerSwallowTail Sun 19-May-13 18:03:24

Congratulations tired! I've been for a hot bath, had raspberry leaf tea capsules and went on a long walk, still no baby and I'm now 39+4 (only made it to 39+3 last time with DS).

megarobotdiscoparty Sun 19-May-13 20:23:46

Congrats tiredtrout I hope you're both doing well! At last she's here smile have been following the latent phase thread over on the childbirth forum - must be such a relief to be out the other side!

Very early labour signs kicking off here....lost my plug this aft and spent the next few hours doubled over in the cinema watching Star Trek with DH....needless to say it's all eased off now hmm Trying not to get my hopes up too much!

How is everyone else doing?

ButteryJam Sun 19-May-13 20:54:36

Congrats tiredout! smile

Mega, nothing happening here. Raspberry Leaf Tea seems to start painful cramps but that is about it. Im not expecting anything to happen now, need to prepare myself that it could be another 3 weeks yet!

ButteryJam Sun 19-May-13 20:55:30

Mega, you appear to be making progress, all the best now! smile

May I ask what your plug looked like?

megarobotdiscoparty Sun 19-May-13 23:21:03

buttery (TMI alert) - lots and lots of bogies! quite alarming really. no blood though, don't know if that means anything. have found clary sage oil in the bath seems to trigger things for me- though may be coincidence. have been drinking RLT for weeks and no effect yet! hear it helps ripen the uterus for pushing stage though so am persisting....

laurajane89 Mon 20-May-13 08:40:54

I was having mild period pains and back pain every half an hr through the night started at bout 11pm and eased off at bout 6am sad really thought things were starting but i guess not sad

shelli135 Mon 20-May-13 08:48:40

Congratulations tired!!! smilethanks

Still nothing here, struggling to walk with a bowling ball between my legs lol

Iv read somewhere hot baths are meant to slow labour down? If this is not true il quite happily sit in a hot bath alllll day smile in fact that's where I'm of to now

ButteryJam Mon 20-May-13 09:54:18

Had period type pains in belly and shooting through back at night for about two hours and then eventually fell asleep. Woke up this morning and still got pain. The tightenings are not very distinct so it's hard to calculate them and time them, but they probably last about 10-20 seconds, about 3 or 4 per hour. So I have no idea if they are contractions or not hmm I do have an extremely sensitive digestive system so it could be that, but it is painful. Don't know whether I should try and go for a walk? Definitely going to start having more Raspberry leaf tea. I have the feeling it's all going to fizzle away ... Lol

laurajane89 Mon 20-May-13 09:57:45

Mine were like that and now they have gone hmm

ButteryJam Mon 20-May-13 10:06:07

Laura, thanks for replying. I have no idea what is going on ... As a 1st timer it's just so confusing! Just going to try and relax today and maybe go for a walk later on. Hope you get some rest too! smile

laurajane89 Mon 20-May-13 10:14:08

I got about an hour sleep at bout 7am this morning thats it so im completely nakered now, this is also my first and im due on thursday, midwife wont sweep me yet either so im very fed up

lollypopsicle Mon 20-May-13 11:50:21

Buttery they sound more like braxton hicks than genuine contractions. It's likely a sign your body is gearing up for the real thing, though. Try not to worry too much about timing until you notice they are more frequent and they stop you in your tracks. I've had the same kind of thing on and off for days. Sigh. Come on baby!

ButteryJam Mon 20-May-13 11:55:52

Thanks lolly. It is reassuring to hear that others are going through similar type of things

craftycottontail Mon 20-May-13 12:12:32

Yay, doing a little jig here as just had a bit of a show! Even made DH smile smile although I know it's not always a sign things are going to happen soon.

Had a few really mild period pain type twitches again this morning.

Have been dusting and hoovering and now going to have some raspberry leaf tea!

Congratulations on your new Tired! I bet you're so happy :D flowers

craftycottontail Mon 20-May-13 12:12:55

*new arrival!

laurajane89 Mon 20-May-13 13:41:28

Having back pains and the pain travels up my back, could this b the start or am i being to hopeful

shelli135 Mon 20-May-13 16:32:11

How far is every1 now?

I'm 39+5

Bunnychan Mon 20-May-13 16:35:33

I'm jumping on the thread; I'm 39+4 with no signs of things moving x

ButteryJam Mon 20-May-13 16:37:09

Shelli 39 + 3

Laura, it could be the start of something, or maybe not! Sending you lots of positive vibes smile

MissLurkalot Mon 20-May-13 16:43:49

I'm 39+4 too.. Due with DC4.
Had a sweep on Friday... lost bits of plug over the weekend. Major BH all weekend.. then from 9.30pm last night, painful period like pains every 12 or 25 mins.... Stopped completely at 4am! (Slept a couple of hours)
Had some minor cramps in the morning, then things kicked off again today at 1pm... every 12 mins, really painful period pains, last two I felt in my bottom (Shit, here we go!!!!) Just about to ring MIL/FIL to make the 40 mins drive over to cover older DC's...then it all stopped! AGAIN!
Sitting here, wishing I'd bloody slept this afternoon now! Doh!
Soooo frustrating... But, thankfully, I'm booked in for an Induction on due date on Wednesday. So, at least I feel the end is nigh.
Stopping and starting is very characteristic of 4th pregnancies/labours... but still highly annoying!

ButteryJam Mon 20-May-13 16:50:53

Has anyone started feeling really hot! I normally feel cold but now I feel quite hot/warm

shelli135 Mon 20-May-13 16:52:15

Not long to go girls!! I'm sending positive labour vibes over to everyone and hope we don't go overdue, too long anyway I definitely don't want to be going 2 weeks over again gringrin

MissLurkalot Mon 20-May-13 16:56:06

Yes, super hot. My cheeks and nose are perpetually red! I have to be freezing in bed! It's driving my hubby potty!

cookiewuk Mon 20-May-13 17:31:49

Im boiling all the time too, sick of my face being red and shiny! Keep waking up in the night drenched in sweat which is pretty gross as well!
Its my due date tomorrow and would quite like it if my baby was one of the tiny percentage that actually arrive on the due date. I've been for more reflexology today and have been sent home with some clarey sage oil on a tissue to sniff. Im still not convinced that anything I try will make her budge but it makes me feel a bit better doing something at least.
Hope we have some more babies arriving tonight, love hearing of new arrivals even if i do get very jealous :D

ButteryJam Mon 20-May-13 17:49:36

cookiewuk, hope clary sage oil works for you smile How does it smell? I was going to buy some then just decided on getting a labour massage oil which has that oil inside it.

Had a consultant appointment today, and baby has gone more up and not down sad (from 1/5 to 3/5 - really gutted and trying to console myself by having hula hoops grin)

cookiewuk Mon 20-May-13 18:24:33

Thanks Buttery, it isn't the nicest smell in the world but isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Kind of earthy perhaps.
You definitely deserve hula hoops after that news sad fingers crossed baby was just feeling energetic and messing about today!
I have a consultant appointment on Thursday and am having another sweep then. Really hope it works as my dad is coming up for the wknd and he lives the other end of the country to us.

ButteryJam Tue 21-May-13 12:38:19

Cookie, hope it works out for you! smile

How are the rest of you doing? It's a little quiet so hoping the rest of you are making progress. I'm having a lazy day smile and hoping the relaxed state will some how trigger labour wink

drcharliegirl Tue 21-May-13 12:51:29

39+4 now.
Saw midwife yesterday and had a horrible time - she did not inspire confidence at all, and then told me simultaneously that baby was deeply engaged in the pelvis, but on internal exam the head was really high and the cervix v posterior. In my notes, she just put a cross through the box for engagement (I've been 2-3/5 pad 2 appointments)
Don't know what to think.

Obviously DD is coming no time soon. So now miserable and hormonal. DH is going to a funeral on Thursday 3 hours away and I'm terrified she'll turn up just as he's away.

Irrationally upset sad

NeedSomeSun142 Tue 21-May-13 17:40:12

Sending hugs to you drcharliegirl.

I'm due tomorrow, got a letter today saying I've got a obstetric appointment on Friday... 2days after I'm due!?!

About shoulder dystocia, that happened during my last birth. I
Can't help but feel like the hospital and midwives have been very slack, why haven't I had this appointment earlier as I have just found out if this baby is bigger (which midwive says he definatley is) and not in correct position I will be offered c section.

ButteryJam Tue 21-May-13 17:46:40

drcharliegirl, I'm feeling the same too, I've kind of given up hope and reading up on sweeps and inductions sad Consultant didn't inspire any confidence either.

My DH is also going away too on Thursday out of town for work, but in all honesty, I don't mind if contractions start then, I'll just be glad something is happening ... and I suppose I could always call him back (an hour and a half away so not too bad).

craftycottontail Tue 21-May-13 23:52:42

Poor you drcharlie, irrationally upset sounds like a good sign though? I'm waiting to feel that pre-labour hormone surge!

Is it your first Buttery? If so sure you'll have a while for your DH to travel back in time!

I'm due today and not a peep. All I've wanted to do today is eat and sleep which doesn't feel very conducive to labour!

cookie I'm wondering if the clary sage worked as know you're due today too and haven't posted!

craftycottontail Tue 21-May-13 23:55:03

Oooh and misslurkalot good luck with your inducton tomorrow if you haven't popped already! So jealous you have a date, the unknown is annoying!

NeedSomeSun142 Wed 22-May-13 06:06:51

It's my due date today, feel very deflated last night was like Christmas Eve, waiting for this big day for ages. (Although I do know baby's come when they want) still feels like a Massive let down hmm got sweep today. Haven't been able to hardly sleep even tho I know I'm shattered.

What a farse, at least the end is near cos I am fed up!

cookiewuk Wed 22-May-13 09:34:41

Im still here wait patiently (yeah right) for little miss to make her appearance. I was so excited for my due date yesterday, slept with the clary sage tissue under my pillow, bounced on my ball all morning and went to aquanatal in the afternoon. After all that I just ended up in agony with my pelvis and back feeling like they were crumbling and not being able to move for the rest of the night sad I was kind of hoping the back pain meant labour was coming but there are no signs today.
Im fed up and just want to meet my little girl! I even lay awake last night trying to think of reasons to be admitted to hospital and induced today, ridiculous i know but that's how desperate i felt in the wee hours of this morning!
I need some sort of distraction today but don't feel like doing anything!
Anyone got any positive news to share yet? Especially labour inducing tricks that we haven't already tried yet! smile

drcharliegirl Wed 22-May-13 12:30:07

still waiting but feeling a bit more positive today.
I've decided no more sweeps. I've booked for an induction next Friday so at least there is a defined end-point.

On the downside, I FINALLY went on my hospital tour today (they've been closed for MONTHS) and was really disappointed in the birth centre facilities. There were too many of us on the tour to ask many questions and I felt like we were constantly in the way...

I asked about 6 hour discharges and was essentially told it was bad for breastfeeding - this from the same midwife who tried to persuade me to have a homebirth. Feeling a bit frustrated about that...

Anyway, hope everyone else is staying sane (pelvic pain, BH and funny aches notwithstanding)...

laurajane89 Wed 22-May-13 12:32:27

Its my due date tomorrow, went to see my midwife today and she gave me a sweep she said it was a very good sweep and im 2cm dilated and my waters are bulging and its just a matter of days now smile i hope she is right

cookiewuk Thu 23-May-13 13:15:53

Any good news for anyone yet?
Im gearing myself up for my consultant appointment this afternoon as I like to agree an induction date that's only a few days away if this sweep doesn't work. Only problem is i lose all my confidence as soon as i see a doc and end up either not saying what i want to or crying, neither of which are productive!

TigerSwallowTail Thu 23-May-13 13:19:54

Nothing here from me, my due date came and went yesterday, I'm 40+1 today and have had no indication that she's on her way. I think she's too comfy to want to budge.

AllThatJazzAgain Thu 23-May-13 13:38:41

Can I creep in? 38+5 weeks, lost mucus plug last Saturday. on and off contractions/ Braxton hicks since. Today on and off pain in inner thighs and contractions spreading to the back. DS1 held out till due date and I am convinced this one will do the same but my goodness is he making me feel uncomfortable!
Very frustrated!

NeedSomeSun142 Fri 24-May-13 05:57:18

40+2 today hmm just wanna meet my baby

Bunnychan Fri 24-May-13 07:33:55

I'm 40+1 and feel a lot calmer now my due date has gone. I'm still desperate to meet my baby but I don't feel as on edge now lol x

drcharliegirl Fri 24-May-13 12:45:27

due date today.
No sign except increased anxiety...
Hey-ho - when's the next full moon? Anyone??!
Bank holiday must be a good bet when all the hospitals are on skeleton staff, yes?!!!

cookiewuk Fri 24-May-13 12:58:44

Well I've been admitted today with high blood pressure and looking at an induction. Have just heard midwife talking to another patient though and there are 5 other ppl waiting to be induced and labour ward is totally full! It could be Sunday before number 2 on there list is induced! Argh!!!

lollypopsicle Fri 24-May-13 13:39:55

Next full moon is Saturday!
Good luck cookie

drcharliegirl Fri 24-May-13 14:09:13

Full moon AND a bank holiday?!

There's a good reason to be cheerful!

cookiewuk Fri 24-May-13 23:41:16

Our beautiful little girl arrived at 8.51pm weighing 6lb1oz after 1 hour of labour! Bit of a shock to the system but all is well now and am so glad to have her in my arms smile

Dillydollydaydream Fri 24-May-13 23:42:41

Woah cookie!
Well done.

NeedSomeSun142 Sat 25-May-13 08:52:17

Wow 1 hour !! Well done congratulations thanks thanks

craftycottontail Sat 25-May-13 20:28:28

Congratulations Cookie! Wow that was really fast!

I've been having spasms of back pain since early this morning, not incredibly painful or regular but starting to get them more often and getting a bit more painful. Don't really know if it's BH or proper contractions though as I imagined it would hurt more! So confused. They're not painful enough to stop me in my tracks yet...

40+4 so maybe wishful thinking!

NeedSomeSun142 Mon 27-May-13 07:40:20

Any new arrivals? Still here waiting 40+5 kind of resigned myself to the fact I'm gonna have to be induced again sad don't think my body knows how to start labour of naturally !

Bunnychan Mon 27-May-13 10:30:43

I'm here 40+4. No signs yet either :-( x

TigerSwallowTail Mon 27-May-13 10:32:22

40+5 here, no sign of baby.

drcharliegirl Mon 27-May-13 10:36:49

Still nothing. Walked miles yesterday. Now she feels like she has retreated back up under my rib cage, giving me dreadful heartburn and the sense she's headed in entirely the wrong direction (those would be DH's genes...)

Has anyone else had experience of carrying higher post dates???!

Feeling weepy and miserable today.

Jojobump1986 Mon 27-May-13 10:45:22

Can I join in? 39 weeks tomorrow & last night I had about an hour of regular(ish) contractions, 3-5 minutes apart lasting 50-60s each. I figured I'd try going to the loo before disturbing DH & they stopped! sad I had a couple of less intense, more sporadic ones after getting back into bed & I just feel achy this morning but no contractions! Thoroughly fed up now & feel like my pubic bone is broken! Hmph!

TigerSwallowTail Mon 27-May-13 10:48:18

I went a big long walk on Saturday drcharlie, then had a good bounce on my birthing ball yesterday followed by a hot bath, but the same thing happened to me. She moved even further up under my rib cage too. I never had this problem with ds, he was engaged for a while then 4 days before my due date I went into labour myself.

lollypopsicle Mon 27-May-13 11:00:19

I'm still here 40+4. I even went out in search of that bloody full moon on Saturday night to bask in the glow. confused think I'm going a bit mad now!

drcharliegirl Mon 27-May-13 11:14:53

tigerswallow - thanks for making me feel like I'm not the only one!
Curry again today (only the 4th time this week).

Oh, and I've discovered that Lindt chocolate with chilli in it. That's gotta work, right?!

Have another attempted sweep to look forward to on Wednesday. Bleurgh. Hope this time the MW doesn't freak me out again.

Here's to avoiding hospitals in the bank holiday downtime, eh?

laurajane89 Mon 27-May-13 14:37:15

Had my little boy on thursday at 40 weeks smile

NeedSomeSun142 Tue 28-May-13 13:44:13

congratulations laurajane grin

craftycottontail Tue 28-May-13 20:23:11

Congratulations laurajane!

I had my little boy on Sunday, turned out that back pain on Saturday was definitely contractions!

Got the last room in the hospital at 2am though they had to clean the room first so I was shown to a waiting room while they did that - they thought with it being my first baby I'd be ages yet. But had pretty lightening quick progression - was getting the urge to push in the waiting room and and at he was born at 4.30am!

Confused40 Tue 28-May-13 22:54:17

Joining thread, am 39+3 and I'm kind of tired of being pregnant, looking forward to meeting baby, and going to miss being pregnant all at the same time lol. smile

I've stopped answering my house phone as I'm tired of people asking if I've had the baby yet. Is that bad? blush

Really looking forward to meeting my DD and introducing her to her big brother, but scared of the labour too. DS labour was just over an hour, no drugs as gas and air made me sick. MW's say ring ambulance and paramedic as soon as I feel anything as last labour was so quick. Quite reluctant to do that, but MW's adamant. Luckily birth centre is a 5-7 minute drive away. Guess it'll give the neighbours something to gossip about ha ha

Having a doula support me this time and looking forward to that aspect of labour.

Congratulations laurajane

TigerSwallowTail Tue 28-May-13 23:20:34

Congrats those that have had their little ones, I'm still waiting, tomorrow I'll be 41 weeks.

confused I avoided checking my phone today to escape the constant 'no baby?' questions, but was still asked by the lollipop lady, a mum in the playground, the lady in the newsagents, lady in the council tax office, and someone in the doctors waiting room, along with some friends and family later on too shock.

Confused40 Tue 28-May-13 23:50:24

Oh dear tigerswallowtail I do feel for you smile
I know people mean well when they ask, but when you are clearly still heavily and visibly pregnant it does get a bit pah lol!!! I'm not answering my phone till baby arrives and just deleting messages as they come. How horrible does that sound?

I'll send out a text or email when baby is born. Decided already that I'll need at least two weeks alone before any visitors. Well can think of a few people I won't mind visiting us smile

emjay78 Wed 29-May-13 23:56:15

Hi can i join? 39 weeks today - no sign of baby and so fed up with the not being able to sleep, the twinges, the moods - nice to see i am not alone! Fingers crossed for some births for the group tomorrow! xx

emjay78 Wed 29-May-13 23:57:38

oh, forgot to mention the constant phone calls, texts, messages, visits... driving me INSANE!!

Confused40 Fri 31-May-13 11:10:17

Ha ha!
I confessed to a close friend that I've stopped answering the phone, and this was totally understood.

What is more surprising for me is that people who've had families are the ones who seem to be contacting me the most! My sister texts and rings me almost daily now aaaahhhh!

I'm actually enjoying the last few days of freedom, meeting friends for lunch, watching crap on TV and really enjoying my maternity leave. Had a long soak in the bath for about 2 hours last night reading my book. Pure bliss.

I'm due on Saturday and really hoping I'm late as I'm starting to enjoy my free time.

What is also annoying is the negative aspects people feel they have to share about pregnancy and as I'm getting nearer to delivering how my life will change and for the worse.

I'm looking forward to meeting my DD and spending time with her and can only see this as a positive.

I've adopted the SNOD (smile and nod) whilst thinking oh F* o** smile he he
