I'll start shall i?
Just nearly fainted and had to be helped home by some strangers after i did the school run and THEN went sledging in the park afterwards.... I also had a very chilly DS with me who had been lying down in the snow and then decided to whinge all the way home about it. Bloody stupid of me and felt like a proper idiot- must remember i'm pregnant!

monal Fri 18-Jan-13 16:11:52

So far, it's not really got beyond puking in the gutter at 8am in front of my office. I'm sure worse is yet to come. I did a presentation today in front of a hundred people with my trousers held together with a hair elastic, that could have gone horribly wrong grin

Moominsarehippos Fri 18-Jan-13 16:17:31

I vomited down the window of a very posh deli/cafe. I didnt look pregnant and it was a Saturday morning, so everyone probably thought I was worse the wear for drink.

12ylnon Fri 18-Jan-13 16:22:49

Ohhh, these are lovely.... the JOYS of pregnancy smile
You need to get yourself a belly-belt monal they're fab.
Just remembered with DS1, i went into early labour (luckily they managed to stop it), but a friend bought me a tub of Ben and Jerry's in hospital... it was 50% extra free and we ate the entire thing between us. When the midwife came in to ask if i was still having contractions, i had to admit that i wasn't sure if what i was having was contractions or severe ice-cream-induced stomach ache blush

itsmyfirsteek Fri 18-Jan-13 16:26:14

Went to a very posh restaraunt on xmas eve with my boyfriend and had to dash outside (door nearer than the loo) to be sick outside! Boyfriend had to explain and get some water to wash it away!

Fairypants Fri 18-Jan-13 17:04:31

Had an old lady help me across the road when I crutches with SPD. How pathetic must I have been.
Also (old lady related) waiting outside dr for it to open to drop off wee sample, DH took sample, handed it to random old lady and asked her to hand it in!

Flossiechops Fri 18-Jan-13 17:12:34

I shat myself whilst giving birth to ds. I knew I'd done it whilst I was pushing him out. I gave birth kneeling on the bed looking towards the wall. When I turned round there were 6 people watching (high risk pregnancy) I wished the ground would have swallowed me whole! blush

Fairypants Fri 18-Jan-13 17:17:31

Oh if you include labour, I think we all do that. DH tried lovingly to tell me I hadn't with dd1 but couldn't keep it up.

MadCap Fri 18-Jan-13 17:22:12

I puked all down myself in front of my boss. I then immediately burst into tears. Fortunately, she had a fairly young ds and was sympathetic. Sent me home for the day and told me to put my feet up.

ImKateandsoismywife Fri 18-Jan-13 17:26:42

Flossie everyone shits themselves in labour!

When I was in labour with dc2 I told the mw I wanted to go for a wee and my waters suddenly broke. I was so embarrassed that she would think I'd just peed on the floor that I kept repeating "that wasn't pee" for duration of my labour!

Flossiechops Fri 18-Jan-13 18:21:59

Thank god!! I didn't first time round though but I had taken shed loads of movicol prior to my induction with ds!!

PictureMeInThese Fri 18-Jan-13 18:37:28

When I was 14 I fainted (twice) during the 2 minute silence for prayers at midnight mass. I was wearing high heels and 'clopped' for a while before I hit the ground with a thud.
I was as pissed as a fart.
My mother has never been back to that church (neither have I).

PictureMeInThese Fri 18-Jan-13 18:38:52

Haha! I have just read the rest of your title!
Disclaimer: I was not pregnant!!!!!

PictureMeInThese Fri 18-Jan-13 18:43:33

<tells self off for only reading part of the OP>

The most embaressing thing I did whilst pregnant was when I projectile vomitted in the street when the baby turned (or something).
Also shouting out OW, loudly, for no apparent reason at random times looked a little odd when I had sciatica.

mildred37 Fri 18-Jan-13 18:46:25

The wind....I have never been so trumpy in my life!!!!!

TinkyPeet Fri 18-Jan-13 19:06:12

In labour with dd and mw was head down watching me push )(or try not to as was only 4cm, so she was keeping an eye on things) and I kept letting out little darts, then absolutely hysterically laughing at the fact I was pushing whilst apologising for darting in her face. Felt like I was about 5 lol. Luckily the midwife wasn't phased by it and said she's had worse, I'd hate to think what :/ x

TinkyPeet Fri 18-Jan-13 19:06:52

Farts* and farting* stupid pone lol

On one of my early scans, I woke up late and had to rush around to get ready quickly. Couldn't find any knickers or socks but just had to leave or I'd have missed the appointment. Wasn't too bothered as it was a transvaginal scan anyway so I knew that when I got there I'd have to take my trousers off and cover myself in the sheet. When I got there the scan lady said they'd just do an abdominal scan instead as it wasn't too early. I exposed my stomach but it wasn't enough, she yanked my trousers down several inches over my hips so the gel wouldn't get on my clothes, exposing my naked muff. blush She did a cats bum mouth and scanned me with the minimum of words while I just cringed...

Unicorn007 Fri 18-Jan-13 19:35:14

Haha I love these! Currently 31 weeks and I have an embarrassing story!

We have recently moved house and on new years eve our new neighbours (retired couple) knocked on our door and asked if we wanted to come for dinner. Didn't really want to but figured we'd be polite and after a couple of hrs could come home.
Went over, had a very nice roast dinner. After eating we are sat talking around their dinner table and I started to feel unwell and really hot. Stripped my jumper off and hoped it would pass, nope! Got worse. Eventually turned to my DH and said I need to go home I feel like I might faint. Went to stand up, promptly threw up all over DH and the kitchen floor, then fainted, collapsed into a plant pot behind the table, smashing it into pieces!!! Came around, sick and dirt everywhere! I was (am still) so embarrassed!!!
Have been avoiding them since then!!!

GeekLove Fri 18-Jan-13 19:40:14

fairypants
Everybody knows that shitting yourself during labour doesn't count. I've done it twice!
I did the splits on some ice when 7 months pregnant when my front leg didn't stop. My knee was sore for 6months after though.

SunshineOutdoors Fri 18-Jan-13 19:47:37

No one in rl admits that they shat themselves when they gave birth. I felt like a bit of a freak.

I went to Spain on holiday when I was about 16 weeks and we booked a bus trip to Barcelona to tour the nou camp and the aquarium.
Bus journey of an hour, spent the entire hour vomiting(quite noisily) and farting (even more noisy) whilst Spanish bus driver and tour guide tried to tell me I was travel sick and should sit at the front of the bus so i could see where we were heading.
Whole bus staring and eventually moved away from me, dp was mortified.
As part of tour of nou camp I went into the dressing room where I projectile vomited again. Did the same in the actual stands.
When we got to the aquarium I was sick in the stingray bit too. Actually in their water.
Spent the last couple of hours in Barcelona trying to find shade and vomiting outside of posh shops.
For the record I had morning sickness from week 6 to week 31. Started enjoying pregnancy.... And delivered at 34 weeks.
Never ever again.
I'd quite like to go back to Barcelona again though

CarriePie Fri 18-Jan-13 20:27:01

These stories are brilliant!
I have no story yet as I'm only 11 weeks with my 1st I'm sure it will happen.
i have a question though - what happens when you poo yourself during labour? Do they just discretely get rid of it or does it stay there until you get a chance to get up from the bed???

Similar to JamesAndTheGiantBanana. Twin pregnancy after two late miscarriages, so frequent scans. Early scan which I assumed would be transvaginal, so I stripped off from waist down and covered myself with the big blue paper towel. The radiographer then proceeded to do an abdominal scan, never once mentioning the fact that I had nothing on from the waist down. I can see the funny side now, but was mortified at the time.

12ylnon Fri 18-Jan-13 20:43:57

I would assume the same threebee smile how odd!
Carrie , they just whip it away, you probably won't even know it's happened.

mrsR1991 Fri 18-Jan-13 20:48:23

i was sick at 2pm on a sunday in the middle of the street and very narrowly missed an expensive looking audi! everyone was staring i had tears streaming down my face due to the vomiting and to top it off i didn't even look pregnant so even more weird looks from the public! and i wasn't pregnant but very shortly after giving birth i coughed n peed myself :-/ not my classiest moment! xx

FoofFighter Fri 18-Jan-13 20:48:53

Carrie they just bundle it away without comment smile I pooed with my first, thought it was the baby coming out blush (I was only about halfway through my labour at that point unbeknown to me obv!)

GingerDoodle Fri 18-Jan-13 21:15:19

Not really embarrassing but I went into labour whilst eating dinner with OH's work colleagues in the middle of London! Had to get taxi, 45 min train ride, taxi, OH empty car of band stuff, 40 min car ride.
Go to the hospital, and midwife went 'oo lets see if your in labour' little did they know I was ready to push - DD was born 1h 24 min later!

Think we'll go back to the Sushi restaurant on DD birthday - might get to finish dinner this time!

Lots Of puking at tube stations; I was very proud that I never puked on an actual tube - a London Underground staff member congratulated me when I told him.

Ditto re farts although I seem to manage to save them for home so poor old DH gets the brunt.

Ditto re whipping off knickers for early scan which I expected to be TV - fertility treatment made me pretty blasé on that front.

Oh, I ripped the front of my pj bottoms all the way down the seam this week, expsoing a very unkempt ladygarden - to be fair, they are not maternity ones and i am 36 wks with twins but still was pretty horrifying.

I am actually quite reassured that other people have accidentally stripped off for an abdominal scan! I thought I was the only one who had ever done this, and whenever I've mentioned it in real life, people are horrified.

VikingLady Fri 18-Jan-13 21:45:10

Oh, the wind! I never farted in front of DH prior to pregnancy, but I just couldn't hold it when I was pg! It was so evil on one occasion that DH was convinced the cats had crapped somewhere in the living room. He was shifting furniture to look for it!

I was too embarrassed to tell him the truth.....

Startail Fri 18-Jan-13 22:00:13

I locked myself out the house and had to get a nice policeman to break in for me.

DH was in Europe

HavingALittleFaithBaby Fri 18-Jan-13 22:28:42

Unicorn has made me grin the widest! How mortifying!

Mine was have to be vomiting so hard I wet myself blush Thankfully I was at home so could change. Working on my pelvic floor exercises!

VenusRising Fri 18-Jan-13 22:37:36

When I was pregnant I would be having a conversation and suddenly from nowhere I'd do this massive loud belch right in the middle of what I was saying.
Happened a few times, and surprised me every time. Pregnancy is so embarrassing - perhaps that's why pregnant = embarrassed in French, Spanish and Italian!

Northernexile Fri 18-Jan-13 22:46:35

I kept falling over. I fell in the street about three times. Just went arse over tit, it wasn't even as if I tripped over anything. I think my centre of gravity had gone to pot altogether, even though I never had a massive bump.

The third time I did it was outside my office. I was just about to finish work, so about 36 weeks, and the window cleaner had to pick me up off the road! blush

DianaTrent Fri 18-Jan-13 22:55:57

threebee, doing a similar job, I can promise you without hesitation that unless your sonographer was incredibly new to the job, they will not have batted an eyelid at you stripping off and will probably have thought you were told to do it by one of their colleagues anyway!

My worst was throwing up all down the side of a very clean, shiny white boat. I feel very sorry for the poor people who had to clean up after me! blush

CharlW1 Fri 18-Jan-13 23:00:20

These embarrassing stories are so funny - I haven't laughed so much in ages grin. Vikinglady - yours has to be my favourite yet!

kirrinIsland Fri 18-Jan-13 23:02:45

I fainted in the middle of my office, taking an architects board and one of my colleagues down with me. I came round to find 10 people standing over me looking concerned. I was really quite embarrassed.

Wereonourway just can't stop giggling at the stingray 'In their actual water.' grin. Did they evacuate them?

I taught an entire poetry lesson to my lovely Year 11s (thinking they were acting a bit weird) only to reach down near the end and discover half a cereal bar velcroed to my jumper on the underside of my massive bump. They'd been too polite to say anything to the scary hormonal pregnant lady bless 'em.

PetiteRaleuse Fri 18-Jan-13 23:17:35

I sneezed at work. DD1 was head up and stamping on my bladder pretty much permanently. I don't know if anyone noticed me sneezing and running off to the loo, but I was cringing when I walked back in.

sookiesucksvamps Fri 18-Jan-13 23:27:23

Went to glastobury at 6 months with my ds2 tripped and went arse over tit wearing a skirt unfortunately exposing myself to thousands of revellers as I had removed my rather uncomfortable knickers on the long journey down

Worst moment has got to be when I randomly threw up at work at 27 weeks pregnant - and the retching caused me to wet myself at the same time. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the young girls in the nursery!! So humiliating.

Funnily enough, have taken my pelvic floor exercises much more seriously since then blush

utopian99 Sat 19-Jan-13 08:09:41

Probably shrieking because the baby kicked me unexpectedly while dh and I were out for super in a restaurant. must have looked like a proper Charlie.

Also falling over in the street at about 9.30pm because my balance had gone when 30weeks on a night out where I'd obviously been on the sort drinks all night. Must have either looked like a trolleyed fat bird, a la 'majorca night's type documentaries or a trolleyed pregnant person, inviting even more judgement. Dear oh dear.

Wereonourway Sat 19-Jan-13 08:18:10

Iheart- they tried to fish it out with a net. I was ushered away by the tour guide to sit on a bus in 30 degree heat with the tour guide and the driver tutting at me.
The sickness was horrendous.
On the day I went into labour i suspected my waters were leaking and rang the labour ward who said to carry on as normal and ring them in a few hours. I had the biggest plate of mince and dumplings for dinner so when I got to hospital I was dying for a poo.
Queue 2 midwives basically watching me have a shit in case it was the baby. It was the biggest poo I've ever had in my life.
Ds weighed 5lb 10oz and I bet the poo didn't weigh much less.
Thought of a labour one too.
Ds was stuck after 2 hours of pushing, emergency button pressed and about 20 people were in room while I signed to say I consented to forceps and possibly ecs. Someone have (now ex) dp some theatre scrubs and he went into bathroom to change.
Ex is 6"4 and over 20 stone and he came out wearing scrubs that must have been extra small, the trousers were like pedal pushers.
Ex came out and said "I can't wear these!" Everyone in the room burst out laughing, surgeon, 2 midwives, anaesthetist, students, everyone.

I can see the funny side now, at the time ds was stuck, epidural had worn off and I remember screaming "you will fucking wear them!!". God the shame.
Kind anaesthetist got dp some bigger ones, he still looked like a tit!

Love this. weareonourway, iheartKingthistle and VikingLady - thank you. I laughed so much weed myself! Which happens quite a bit at the mo blush

WeeS Sat 19-Jan-13 13:31:32

Haha, these are so funny smile

I was at a party with my DPs family at xmas and sneezed, but whilst doing so farted. Probably the loudest I've ever ever done, and the fact I was sitting on a wooden seat seemed to amplify that and the vibrations it created blush

After the mw gave me back my wee-wee sample as she didnt have anywhere to dispose of it - ? in a drs surgery? anyway, I digress - it fell out of my bag whilst doing my weekly shop and rolled down the aisle. I had to run after it which made me look even redder in the face. In fact, it's still in my bag, I'd better get rid of it lol

Bicnod Sat 19-Jan-13 13:34:31

Where's the swimming pool minge thread? That'll make you feel better. will try and find it...

Bicnod Sat 19-Jan-13 13:37:07

Here it is - bloody hilarious - sorry TSC for raking that one up again grin

CarriePie Sat 19-Jan-13 14:48:13

Oh my goodness that swimming pool story is the funniest thing I have EVER read!!

TinkyPeet Sat 19-Jan-13 20:55:36

Omfg!!! I absolutely just cried my face off laughing at that!!! 'I can see your minge!!' Aaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

florry88 Sat 19-Jan-13 21:16:37

Thank you! so funny

SoYo Sat 19-Jan-13 21:34:20

Thank you! I have just laughed so much.....so glad I've been like Hitler about my pelvic floor exercises!

MrsReacher Sat 19-Jan-13 21:37:05

Almost pregnancy related 2 weeks after giving birth to dd1 I popped into our local shop leaving baby with dh a women in there I used to see on the bus exclaimed loudly "haven' t you had that baby yet " me quietly "yes two weeks ago " Did decide to make a start on my diet though !

MrsPennyapple Sat 19-Jan-13 21:54:35

Iheart I am actually in tears laughing at your post! That doesn't happen very often.

Not everyone shits themselves in labour, I'm pretty sure I didn't. Certainly no one mentioned it. When my waters broke (after two days of contractions) my insides totally turned to water. Sorry for TMI but I couldn't stop pooing and was panicking that I was going to have the baby down the toilet into a bowl of poo.

I don't think anything desperately embarrassing happened - it was embarrassing enough not finding out til I was 19 weeks gone.

Catchingmockingbirds Sat 19-Jan-13 22:09:36

I'm pg just now and I have awful baby brain. A few weeks ago I was in a car park with DP and DS. We got into the car and I sat in the passenger seat while DP strapped DS into the backseat. The people in the car next to us (which I thought was empty) started to drive away. I seen their car move but thought it was ours rolling backwards instead of them driving forwards. I then started screaming at DP in terror thinking we were going to roll through the fence and go flying over the edge of the car park into traffic blush

TinkyPeet Sat 19-Jan-13 22:32:57

mrspenny the midwives won't exactly say 'ooh you've just shit' or write it on the notes, they kinda just wipe it away whilst continuing to tell you to push. They don't say a word x

MrsPennyapple Sat 19-Jan-13 22:43:15

I'm sure they are very professional and nice about it smile I'm still sure I didn't though. I shat so much at home there can't have been anything left. (Was only 2.5hrs afterwards that DD arrived.)

Anyway, DP wouldn't have let me forget it if I had.

Catchingmockingbirds Sat 19-Jan-13 22:51:21

I've told DP that if I shit this time he's not to tell me.

TinkyPeet Sat 19-Jan-13 22:57:17

Lol I don't let dh go down that end. It's strictly sat by my head or lose a bollock lol x

Catchingmockingbirds Sat 19-Jan-13 23:43:28

It's strictly sat by my head or lose a bollock

grin amazing.

When I was having DS I said I wanted DP to stay up top, but the midwife invited DP to come for a look!

cece Sat 19-Jan-13 23:48:13

I somehow swapped trolleys with someone else whilst going around Tesco. Got to check out and realised that half the stuff in the trolley I had wasn't mine. So had to go to customer services. The young man gave me a withering look. He then made an annoucement to the whole store, for peopel to check they had the right trolley. I went and hid whilst the person returned my trolley and they and the young man swapped things around. Went back 5 mins later to the resorted trolley, paid and left.
