My God, I fancied fish cooked with green tomatoes. BIL brought some back from mil's and I've cooked them for tonight. Can't wait for dinner.

Gone off chocolate tho!

greenj1 Tue 08-Jan-13 15:08:16

I feel sick all day and evening so not much....but when I got in bed last night all i could think of was fish and chips smothered in salt and vinegar lol!!

Hanikam Tue 08-Jan-13 15:09:47

greenj1 mmmm sounds lovely. What I could do to a gherkin right now...

clarelou13 Tue 08-Jan-13 15:16:07

I crave extra strong mints, not necessarily the taste but the texture of them chewed up, the feeling of my tooth brush and cleaning my teeth and the smell of bleach! This is my second pregnancy and both times the cravings have been more about textures and smells. Mind you, I do have a sweet tooth now, which I dont usually.

Abzs Tue 08-Jan-13 15:16:56

I am currently demolishing a packet of ginger biscuits.

I have been wanting sausages and bacon, but now we have loads in the fridge left over from scout camp I can't face them. Anyone know what to do with 20 odd sausages that can't be refrozen?

greenj1 some proper fat chips with salt and vinegar (malt, not white) would be lovely. Had chips on the way back from camp on sunday but they weren't very good.

wifey6 Tue 08-Jan-13 15:18:12

green...that does sound yummy!
My cravings are Special K cereal, crumpets & potatoes. (Not all together)Not very exciting but can't get enough of them! smile
Could just eat a crispy jacket potato with curry sauce! smile

WendyWillow Tue 08-Jan-13 15:23:19

Full fat milk, drinking at least 2 pints a day at the moment...

greenj1 Tue 08-Jan-13 15:27:54

Oh yeah Im drinking loads of milk at the minute, it seems to settle my tummy smile I could eat a jacket spud right now, cooked in the oven so all crispy with real butter and cheese...yummy!

RugBugs Tue 08-Jan-13 15:29:21

Haribo Tangfastics or the sour dummies.
Before Christmas it was everton mints

MisselthwaiteManor Tue 08-Jan-13 15:56:47

I really wanted mash potato with mint sauce at lunch today, we have no mint sauce or mint in the house though so I'm sulking.

Yes to proper fish and chips, I went through a massive craving for chips from my childhood chippy, which is unfortunately 200 miles away from where I live now. DH had to go fetch chips from every chippy in our area but none of them were the right chips.

weeblueberry Tue 08-Jan-13 15:58:48

I'm craving fruit and veg at the moment. I suspect that's due in large part to how little of it I ate over Christmas. blush

PeppaPigStinks Tue 08-Jan-13 16:04:22

Abz- you could make up a batch of sausage rolls. Or sausage casserole and free it! Then you can re heat it! If you have a slow cooker you can just bung it in for the day as freeze that evening. grin

PeppaPigStinks Tue 08-Jan-13 16:05:45

I am craving this apple and finer drink that's £1.50 a throw.... Have bought some apple juice and some ginger cordial and have now sussed the right amount so it tastes similar! I can't get enough of it!

PeppaPigStinks Tue 08-Jan-13 16:06:15

Argh- iPhone! I meant ginger!

rrreow Tue 08-Jan-13 16:18:19

I craved some winegums, had pretty much a whole packet and feel a bit nauseous now.. oops.

I went off chocolate with my first pregnancy! I went off anything sweet really. This time around I'm eating a bit less chocolate than pre-pregnancy but not off it completely.

PipIsOutNow Tue 08-Jan-13 16:21:43

My new craving is prawn toast dipped in sweet chilli sauce!! Om nom nom!!

shelley72 Tue 08-Jan-13 16:29:49

i didnt think i was having cravings this time round apart from needing to eat lots of jelly babies. and before christmas it was cheese. i was dairy free for a very long time as i BF DD and she stopped BF just after i got pg. think my body was needing more calcium!

BUT today i have made DH drive me to ikea for some of their swedish apple cake. and he came home from work last night armed with punnets of cherries and blueberries which i promptly scoffed. i do so need to start eating healthier now christmas is over and i'm beginning to pile on the weight but i just have no willpower sad

Beckett3 Tue 08-Jan-13 16:31:20

Cherry tomatoes and I seem to have gone off chocolate and ketchup.

Abzs Tue 08-Jan-13 16:37:11

I ran out of steam for the biscuits, and am now thinking about sausage butties. Also have three and a half loaves of bread...

Abzs Tue 08-Jan-13 16:39:06

Peppa - that's what I was thinking, but I don't have much space in the freezer. If I eat the ice cream a casserole might fit though, and I'd have a tub to put it in...

greenj1 Tue 08-Jan-13 16:43:58

ooh great excuse for demolishing the ice cream lol!!!

Mawgatron Tue 08-Jan-13 16:47:03

Strawberries, chicken supernoodles, wotsits, ice cream. Not necessarily in that order! Mmmmm. Just cooking up supernoodles right now- soooooo wrong but I just don't care...

Twinklestarstwinklestars Tue 08-Jan-13 16:47:39

I've been craving jacket potatoes lately and today fancied hot cross buns.

Numbthumbs Tue 08-Jan-13 16:57:37

Mango juice, my god the craving is strong and ive just drank the last of my stash sad thank god im close to the end (38+2). Hope the baby comes out smelling of mango.......yum

FoofFighter Tue 08-Jan-13 17:11:40

Not cravigns as such as I am very suggestible, example being that someone only has to metnion some kind of lovely food stuff in passing and BAM I NEED THAT EXACT THING NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

Am fidning I am needing strong tasting things, full of spice, heat - hot and sour soup is a favourite.
And bread but then that's my all time favourite and I'm just taking advantage ;)

Rache1S Tue 08-Jan-13 18:27:30

Strawberry jelly! I just can't make it fast enough! blush

LaurenCaddy Tue 08-Jan-13 18:38:18

I'm actually rather gutted. I'm 30 weeks and yet to get any form of cravings. Don't particularly like anything i haven't before. Or lost tastes for anything.

My sister liked sponges and the smell of new carpet. She'd walk around carpet shops just to smell it. She's nibble on washing up sponges, she likes the texture.

I want weird cravings sad

Somersetlady Tue 08-Jan-13 19:01:10

Hello ladies

Am only 5 weeks gone at what stage do you get cravings? (First timer obviously)

I have gone off all crap which is most unlike me, used to have chocolate cravings before I was pregnant...... Daily..... I am sure that is the wrong way round!

FoofFighter Tue 08-Jan-13 19:10:16

Sometimes women don't get cravings as much as aversions Somersetlady.

flyingsprocket Tue 08-Jan-13 19:13:44

Don't really have any cravings but have been eating alot chocolate. I didn't really like the stuff before I was pg. Could eat a whole packet of chocolate biscuits right now if I had the energy to get of the couch & walk to the kitchen to find them!

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome Tue 08-Jan-13 19:17:26

Pot Noodles! Haven't had any for years and don't intend to give it although they were selling 4 for a a minuscule amount at the Coop

Twiglets. Got through a whole tin in two days.

snickers251 Tue 08-Jan-13 19:20:22

I have the teeth cleaning thing too, had it with ds and this pg!

Not so much the smell of bleach but certain cleaning products I could happily sit there sniffing grin

KFFOREVER Tue 08-Jan-13 19:22:43

31 weeks and I have no cravings whatsoever! Food is horrible at the moment and eating is a chore since 1 week before i found out i was pregnant. Before being pregnant i had a sweet tooth now anything sweet makes me so ill. Enjoy your cravings ladies x

Somersetlady Thu 10-Jan-13 17:50:46

Kf I am the same - hope it lasts! Only want fruit veg and meat! Lots of home made soups I used to be a packet of crips and chocolate bar a day girl!

TwitchyTail Thu 10-Jan-13 17:51:44

This thread is making me hungry grin

Creamtea1 Thu 10-Jan-13 18:38:32

Curries, salad cream and wham bars!
Also gone off tea a bit and chocolate, very strange.

PhieEl06 Thu 10-Jan-13 19:34:32

A chicken tikka masala, a very sweet coconutty one! With a pinky sauce! & lots of cheese sandwiches or baguettes, but the cheese has to be grated otherwise it makes me heave!

MyFriendGoo Thu 10-Jan-13 20:05:49

Intense dairy cravings for the first four months (cheeeeeese) now giving way to more sensible things like pineapple and felafel salad. So relieved, thought I would never be able to stomach a healthy thing again for a while there!

sunnysunnyshine Thu 10-Jan-13 20:12:04

ICE! Had the same craving with dc1 but at least that was in the summer. I'm bloody freezing at the mo but am still getting through trays of the stuff.

It's a pain actually as its an insatiable craving so really frustrating. Plus I'm worried about my poor teeth.

Haven't got up in the night for it yet this time (dh used to find me standing at the freezer chomping away), but I do often lie awake thinking about it. I feel like an ice junky!

Right have to go and get some now I'm thinking about it.

Steffanoid Sat 12-Jan-13 16:38:57

over the christmas few weeks it was oranges, I don't normally like oranges but couldn't get enough of them, orange juice, navel oranges, clementines, during a 9 hour shift i had 5 clementines and about 2.5 litres of not from concentrate orange juice, it's died down now, which is good because my work collegues were starting to think I was nuts!
now i've moved onto ice cream, me and my OH are eating it every day, I don't think he needs the excuse though!!
other than that i'm having the seeing and having to eat craving! my doctors is about 30 seconds away from Mcdonalds and i end up there every time when i was in the docs for appointments, i think i need blinkers !!

StuckOnARollercoaster Sat 12-Jan-13 17:51:03

taramasalata! had one stick of celery to dip in it and then decided it was better to just eat the whole tub with a spoon in one go!

mamabrownbear Sat 12-Jan-13 18:01:38

Early on in pregnancy I was craving irn bru!!

TinkyPeet Sat 12-Jan-13 21:01:32

talulahbeige Sun 13-Jan-13 15:51:51
