A very faint line. I'm pregnant, aren't I?

(36 Posts)

Been TTC for a while, and POAS this morning, and got a very faint line in the T window. AF was due yesterday, and no sign.

I've also had very puffy eyes and upper cheeks the last few days, is this a symptom? Never had anything like that with PFB (3.5).

Advice please!

A line is a line. That's what my DP said to me this morning too grin

Congratulations.

Not sure about puffiness, but I had an inkling because I have some spots on my face, I never ever get spots

Got all teary now, I must be up-duffed!

Thank you everyone! I think that I'm gonna get one of those digital tests just to put my mind at rest, I've pissed on so many sticks the last few months I can't believe that we've finally done it!

Congratulations to you too Lotsa

Mawgatron Mon 07-Jan-13 18:55:51

That happened to me and I was indeed duffed up. Continued to do them every couple of days and line got darker each time. Congratulations!

Yep! Congrats! My line with first DS didn't come up until after I had a nap.

Crmmum Mon 07-Jan-13 21:47:13

Both times I have had such a faint line I thought I was imagining it, but those lines turned into 16 month old ds and 16 week baby in ma belly! In 2 or 3days line will be darker! Congrats! X

Well I'm confused now. Bought a 2 pack of Clearblue digital tests and did one Sunday pm, BFN. Did one Monday with FMU, BFN. Still no AF.

My periods have been a bit irregular recently, so that casts extra doubt on the situation, but I don't feel like I'm due on.

Puffiness has gone down, but got very dry, flaky skin on and around my chin, which looks lovely!

Gah! I'm gonna have to go to the docs, aren't I?

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire Tue 08-Jan-13 10:58:53

Yup!

RobinSparkles Tue 08-Jan-13 10:59:47

The clear blue digital aren't very sensitive. I would test again using the same brand of test you used the first time.

My faint line is currently singing her little heart out and is 2 next month.

Congratulations. smile

The first brand was Predictor, if that makes a difference?

Crmmum Tue 08-Jan-13 17:13:03

Try first response (pink pack), that has always shown positive for me before any other test

Crmmum Tue 08-Jan-13 17:13:51

Oh, and agonising as it is, try and wait till first morning urine, or do not drink fluids for a few hours before testing...

HavingALittleFaithBaby Tue 08-Jan-13 17:16:20

I agree with Robin (arf by the way!), clearblue are least sensitive on the market. I got BFPs on Internet cheapies that were fuzzy and then a really clear BFP on a First Response Early Response so I'd second that as the choice of test. They are very sensitive.

I never had a positive on a clear blue. ever, best ones were the cheap 99p ones from home bargains that arent in a plastic ase iyswim.

MiconiumHappens Tue 08-Jan-13 18:56:58

Clearblue actually says in words pregnant or not pregnant, but I think a line is a line smile

Iheartpasties Tue 08-Jan-13 21:27:20

Yes, use a different brand. Fingers crossed for you.

sundaesundae Tue 08-Jan-13 21:34:20

I got a positive on a Predictor and then negs on everything else. Guess which one was right.. I ignored it till I fainted a couple of weeks later and then did a tesco cheapy that was positive before I even put it down!

Well I was convinced I was pregnant, til I got my answer last night, when AF showed up with a vengeance sad

HavingALittleFaithBaby Wed 09-Jan-13 10:46:34

Oh sorry Fizzy. Was AF a bit late? I wondered with the faint BFP if it might have been a chemical pregnancy?

Thanks Having. AT was due on the 5th, but the last few Months my cycle has been a bit irregular. I'm a bit new to this TTC thing as PFB was a happy accident, so what's a chemical pregnancy, if you don't mind?

Please excuse the random capital M, am on kindle.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Wed 09-Jan-13 11:13:44

A chemical pregnancy is where the egg gets fertilised but fails to implant. That can result in a positive pregnancy test (especially since these days the tests are so sensitive) early on but you then go on to have a period, often a bit late.

Sounds about right. I'm not really sure how to feel, it's a bit like a cruel joke my body has played on me.

Actually really sad now.

Not your fault though having my own fault for googling

HavingALittleFaithBaby Wed 09-Jan-13 11:57:50

I had a couple when TTC (we had fertility problems) and I think they are heart breaking sad
How long have you been TTC?

OddBoots Wed 09-Jan-13 12:00:41

Sorry it wasn't to be. sad If it helps at all I have 3 times fallen pregnant the cycle after a chemical, for my body at least a chemical seems to put it in the right 'mode'.

Well, we haven't been using protection for about 9 months, but I've only figured out my fertile days in the last 3 months or so after finding a great app on my phone that helps me track my cycle. It's called My Days X for anyone that's interested and has an Android.

I know it's early days, but I'd built my hopes up sooo much since getting the BFP that I just feel crushed now.

That's good to hear OldBoots, let's hope it does the same for me.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Wed 09-Jan-13 12:12:46

Just be a bit wary with those apps, they're not bad but they go on an average rather than any specificity to yourself. I used one that predicted I ovulated around day 15 but temping and OPKs, along with my scan dates (I'm now pregnant) I ovulate more like CD11! Make sure you have sex from when your period goes, three times a week, every week to guarantee to hit the right time.

Okay, good to know!

RobinSparkles Wed 09-Jan-13 14:27:06

I'm sorry to read this. I was hoping the end of the thread would result in a BFP!

I have my fingers crossed for you for next month. Good luck smile
