Pregnancy

Sickness and Diarrhea- hormonal??

Hi there,

I'm new, but am feeling a bit low, and since I can't talk to anyone (apart from hubby and mum) about it as no-one else knows yet, thought I'd try here.

I've come down with sickness and diarrhea for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. I'm 11 weeks pregnant. It only lasts for a short while- I'm hoping I'll feel better tomorrow, but mwife doesn't know if it's a bug or just a reaction to food. Has anyone else had a severe reaction to food? I had fish & chips last night -hardly ever have it but the footie was on! Thinking maybe the grease was just too much. I've had some nausea so far this pregnancy but not that much- not enough to be sick. Has anyone found they have to eat much blander lower fat foods now? I didn't have this problem with my first pregnancy.

any similar experiences? advice?

Hi SaraL

Congratulations BTW! Are you on the due January thread too?

I am 9+4 and have had various bouts of "funny tummy" and diarrhea. I have also been unable to eat a normal sized dinner in the evenings without being sick! I had too much on several occassions and was very sick! I also can't eat spicy food at all now or again I an just sick!!

Not sure if it will work for you but I am eating little and often, it quells the constant sea/travel sickness feelig and also stops me getting over full and being sick!

Hope it all goes well!

G xx

Thanks GinaFB

I'm not on the January thread- how do I do that?

I think you're right, I think I ate far too much and it was really greasy- I will definitely be eating little and often and avoid the fat.

The nausea is so frustrating, I've stopped being sick but now feel sick and it's probably the usual nausea kicking in because I haven't eaten since last night! Now trying to force down a piece of toast despite midwife suggesting I just drink water today- yeah right!

bring on the 2nd trimester that's all I can say!
