Experiences of Metoclopramide for nausea/comiting in pregnancy?

I've just been prescribed this for acute nausea (am nearly 6 weeks).

The doc says it is safe in pregnancy, though the leaflet in the box says "Consult your doctor or pharmacist if pg, especially in the first 3 months".

Does anyone have any experience of this drug?

(obviously the title should read "vomiting" not "comiting"!)

if you scan through the 'Hyperemesis Awareness' thread- sorry am rubbish at links but it is fairly recent- there are loads of us on a cocktail of medications to get us through pregnancy unfortunately. At the moment I am taking a combination of Cyclizine and metaclopromide- the latter of which speed up 'digestive transit'- sorry TMI- which becomes more lax and therefore one of the culprits of vomiting in preg.

As far as I am aware as long as you have been prescribed to take it is is perfectly safe to do so during pregnancy (I think that disclaimer is on all meds that I have come across). There are more potent meds that I have had to resort to - obviously under medical supervision.

I had metaclopramide with my 3rd dc, he is now 6.5yo. I am just about to start on metaclopramide again, I am currently 12+3.

It didn't work for me so I am on cyclizine, all the meds have pregnancy warnings as they have never run official tests on pregnant women, however most of them have been used for years and there are no known reoccuring themes that would suggest the baby will be adversely effected.
Hope they work for you and you feel batter soon
