Chicken Pox

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and am due to see my niece this weekend but she's got chicken pox (came out in spots last night). I've had chicken pox, and saw her this week, so she would already have had the virus. Am I okay to see her this weekend (I would assume so as it must be impossible for pregnant women with children to avoid chicken pox).

I would check with your MW. Having had it in childhood doesn't 100% mean you're immune.

I had chicken pox twice, once as a child and then again when I was 24. Talk to a midwife and see what they say. When I had it second time I avoided going to a meeting as I knew there was a pregnant lady there and I didn't want to risk it.

Called the midwife and she said it should be fine to see her - just don't let he sneeze or cough over me.
