Tingly numb hands anyone?

I am 35 +3 and my hands are increasingly numb and tingly. They are worse in the morning but never quite go back to normal. They also have limited mobility which is becoming really tiresome. I wear splints at night which helps a bit but in general they are getting worse.
Does anyone have experience of this and if so is there anything else i can do to relieve the symptoms?

Sorry I can't help with symptom relief suggestions. I do know that numbness can be caused by more than one medical condition, and I recommend that to discuss your problem with a medical professional. I know that probably sounds obvious, but symptom relief should be done together with diagnosis of any underlying condition. I hope you do find relief from the effects of numbness soon.

I had it really bad!! Down to water retention. Can't give you anything but sitting with feet up can help. Do expect it to get worse though (sorry). On the positive side it clears up pretty quickly after birth.

korma's right It's probably carpal tunnel, v common in pregnancy and usually clears up after the birth. Sleeping with your arms up on a pillow and out to your sides can help. Largely impractical if not impossible though.

I had this towards the end of last pregnancy. Mine was carple tunnel caused by water retention. I found sleeping with hands on pillows helpful and I wore wrist supports in the day at the very end as it did get worse. But as soon as I'd given birth a day or two later they were totally back top normal.

I've got this, and have been told it's carpal tunnel syndrome, and water retention related too. And as per Dotty38, that's there's nothing really to be done, but that it will all go back to normal v soon after birth.

I read on a website the advice to 'sleep with hands resting on a pillow', and cannot for the life of me figure out how I'm supposed to do that. At 36 weeks, I'm down to one comfy-ish sleeping position (on left hand side), and one less comfy but okay postion (on right hand side). Back and front sleeping are totally out, and whenever I'm on my side, the arm/shoulder I'm lying on goes completely numb while I'm asleep. I just can't see how I'm supposed to 'rest' hands on pillows in these positions, but maybe others have worked out how!

Carpel tunnel, very common in pregnancy.

I get numb arm/fingers on the side I sleep on too like BARKFOX, I bought a huge double lenght pillow which I sleep with between my legs (I have sore hips/pelvis too), and I put one arm on the top of this pillow (it's long enough to run from my shoulder to my anckles), and this seems to stop the top shoulder collapsing against my chest and crushing the shoulder I'm sleeping on (IYKWIM?). Mothercare sells the giant pillows, £30, but worth every penny as great for both the hip pain and the numb finger/arms.

Also, cut out salty food, that can make a huge difference as you retain fluid more easily when pregnant and this makes carpel tunnel symptoms worse.
